Mac – Eyeshadow in Cork

This Mac eyeshadow in Cork is a mid brown colour, it falls under Mac’s satin finish collection but I would say the colour is fairly matt. As with all of Mac’s pressed powder eyeshadow pots it is good quality, there is no powder drop off under the eyes and it applies really smoothly.
This brown Cork colour blends really well, use with a stiff stubby brush to apply into the socket of your eye – I use Mac’s 219 Pencil Brush. I actually wore this colour on my wedding day a couple of years ago, in the socket of my eye (along with a shimmery cream colour over all of my eye area and then a dark grey at the outer corner of my eyelids).
As this Cork eyeshadow shade is rather neutral it will go with lots of other colours – try it with greens or purples and blend it really well. From the swatch image below you can see that the colour isn’t too dark, but if you layer it on then it does give a darker colour.
I am a big fan of Mac eyeshadows, there are so many colours available at a mid-price range. I’m not a big fan of Mac’s website though, I find there to be too much space given up to annoying aspirational lifestyle images and not enough images of the products – anyone with me?
Mac Eyeshadow in Cork (Satin) is priced at £12 for 1.5g and is available from Mac Cosmetics.
