Look Fantastic October Beauty Box – Limited Edition 1/3

I thought September’s Look Fantastic Beauty Box was good, but I was even more pleased with this October box due to the range of top brands included inside. This is the first of three Christmas 2015 Limited Edition Beauty Boxes* from Look Fantastic, available throughout October. With contents worth over £50 each monthly box contains around seven sample-size beauty products, making it a great way to try out new brands.
Read on to discover more about the Beauty Box…
The box itself is a thing of beauty, it’s a white cardboard box with a golden geometric print design on the lid and lined with blue tissue paper. It contains 7 products – a selection of skincare, bodycare and haircare products – all from top name brands.
So, what was inside the first Look Fantastic Christmas 2015 Beauty Box?
Nuxe Reve De Miel Hand & Nail Cream – ‘Reve de Miel’ translates from French as ‘Dream of Honey’ and this rich Hand & Nail Cream has been developed to repair, nourish and protect dry and damaged hands. It has a beautiful rich scent and will be perfect for the colder Winter weather when my hands always seem to get sore and chapped.
The ingredients include Chilean rose, avocado and sweet almond precious oils. A full size 75ml tube of Nuxe Reve De Miel Hand & Nail Cream retails at £11.
Percy & Reed Volumising No Oil Oil – this is a lightweight non-greasy hair oil to smooth and tame wild tresses. The ingredients include violet extracts and pro vitamin B5 which strengthen, deeply nourish and moisturise the hair, plus it also protects from heat styling tools.
To use just warm 1-2 drops in the palms of the hands then run through towel dried hair before drying. I haven’t tried this yet but from reading the reviews it sounds like it’s going to be great for my dry frizzy hair! A full size 60ml bottle of Percy & Reed Volumising No Oil Oil is priced at £14.
Murad Age Reform AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser – this is one of the products that I’m most excited about trying as I’m already head-over-heels in love with Murad’s Clarifiying range so I’m looking forward to trying this from the Age Reform collection. The ingredients include salicylic, lactic and glycolic acids to encourage clarity and brightness by dissolving skin cell build-up, plus jojoba beads to further polish and re-texturise the skin – so it exfoliates the skin in two ways, both chemically and physically.
This product should be used 2-3 times a week as the acid ingredients would be too harsh to use every day, and you just massage it onto the face before removing like you would with a regular cleanser. A full size 200ml tube of Murad Age Reform AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser is priced at £34.
Balance Me Radiance Face Mask – Balance Me is a brand that I’ve been meaning to try for just the longest time as I’ve read some great things about it. The Radiance range has been developed for normal to dry and sensitive/mature skins, and this face mask will gently smooth, polish and brighten the skin.
Although I’m not sure that it will be suitable for use all over my combination skin I’m hoping it’s going to be perfect for my dry forehead and cheeks, and I’m planning a nice relaxing pampering facial tonight! Balance Me Radiance Face Mask is currently only available as part of a 5-product Balance Me Radiant Skin Collection, which is on offer at £12 (usual price £18).
Monu Firming Moisturiser – all of the Monu products that I have tried so far I’ve been really impressed with and I love the fact that they are paraben-free. This rich moisturiser contains Marine Collagen which helps smooth fine lines and Neroli and Lavender essential oils to soften the skin. It has been developed for dry skin so again I’m not 100% sure it will be suitable for my combination skin, but I often get dry flaky patches in the Winter so I’m saving this sample to use then. I’m struggling to find a full size version of this product available on Look Fantastic at the moment, but there are lots of Monu products currently available.
Elemis Hydra-Balance Day Cream – this is a daytime moisturiser from well respected skincare brand Elemis. Ingredients include Petitgrain, Neroli and Mandarin which work together to soothe and comfort dehydrated skin and provide continuous hydration. It’s been developed for combination skin so it’s perfect for me, I’ve been using it for the past week and really like it – it leaves my skin feeling soft and supple and provides a perfect base for make-up as it’s not greasy.
A full size 50ml tube of Elemis Hydra-Balance Day Cream retails at £42 which I do think is rather pricey, but Elemis products are generally worth the extra spend so I don’t mind too much.
Look Good Feel Better Eye Shading Brush – ‘Look Good Feel Better’ is the only global cancer charity supporting women with the visible side effects of cancer treatment and 8-12% of the wholesale price of their brushes goes to the charity. This is a really nice soft handmade, cruelty free eyeshadow brush that can be used to apply shadow all over the eyelid and then blend multiple colours together to give a soft effect.
There’s a whole range of these brushes available on the Look Fantastic website, all at affordable prices, and I think it’s a great initiative. I can’t currently find the Eye Shading Brush available online but there is an Eyeliner Brush priced at £6.99.
So there you have it, what do you think of the contents of this October Look Fantastic Beauty Box? I think there are some great brands in this month’s box, my favourite items are the Balance Me Face Mask and the Murad Exfoliating Cleanser.
These Limited Edition Christmas Beauty Boxes would make a great gift, you can either subscribe to all three or just purchase one – but you’d better hurry as this box is only available until the end of October.
The Look Fantastic October 2015 Beauty Box is priced at just £15 and includes FREE UK delivery. Or you can subscribe to all three for just £40.
