Living Nature – Sensitive Day Moisture

It’s been a while since I did a post about natural skincare, but it’s something that I’m really passionate about as I think it’s important we know exactly what ingredients we are putting onto our skin.
If you’ve not heard of Living Nature before it was launched in 1987 in New Zealand. Their products contain no synthetics, use only 100% natural ingredients, preservatives and fragrances and are never tested on animals. Their full range of cosmetics and skincare is Certified Natural by BDIH Germany, and their policy is ‘if there is any doubt about the safety of an ingredient, we don’t use it’. I love their philosophy! They also harness a lot of New Zealand’s native botanicals like Manuka Oil, Hallo Clay and Kelp and use these within their products.
I’ve been using new Sensitive Day Moisture cream for almost two weeks now, part of Living Nature’s new Sensitive range. It’s a perfectly pH balanced, gentle daytime moisturiser that contains Organic Virgin Coconut Oil, Harakeke Flax Extract and Avocado Oil. The Harakeke Flax Extract is a clear polysaccharide gel that comes from the base of New Zealand’s native flax plant – its anti-inflammatory and soothing capabilities help deliver immediate relief and cooling sensation to troubled skin.
It’s a lightweight white coloured cream moisturiser, you only need a small amount as a little goes a long way with this product. You apply it in a morning after cleansing and toning, and although it does take quite a bit of massaging before it sinks completely into the skin it leaves a good non-oily matt finish which is perfect for applying make-up. It does make skin feel a bit tight for a few minutes after it’s been applied, but this sensation quickly disappears – I’m not sure what it is about the cream that makes skin feel like this as it doesn’t make skin feel dry.
Sensitive Day Moisture is aimed at those with sensitive, very dry or compromised skin, and whilst I don’t have sensitive skin I do suffer from mild acne and I find that using skincare products which contain natural and organic ingredients do help to limit the severity of this. I also hate the thought of putting lots of nasty chemicals onto my skin.
I’ve been really pleased with the moisturiser so far, as I have with all of the Living Nature products that I’ve tried in the past too, it’s definitely worth a try if you like using natural skincare.
Living Nature’s Sensitive range also includes a cleanser and toner. I have samples of these to try and haven’t used them yet, but if they’re anything like the moisturiser then I think they’ll be good.
