Living Nature – Hydrating Toning Gel

You may have read my reviews of other Living Nature products on Beauty Best Friend, if so you may know that Living Nature is a certified natural skincare and cosmetic brand based in New Zealand and all of their products are made from 100% natural ingredients. I think it’s really important to know what we are actually putting onto and into our skin.
I was recently offered the chance to try out this Hydrating Toning Gel* from Living Nature. I usually use a liquid toner from Organic Surge so this toning gel was something a bit different.
Developed for oily and problematic skin, the aim of this toning gel is to restore the natural pH levels of the skin, and to help prevent oil overproduction, whilst naturally firming and toning the skin. It is a clear gel with a sweet floral scent and it should be applied after cleansing in both the morning and the evening. I wasn’t sure whether to apply it with my fingers or a cotton wool pad, so I have tried it with both and it is definitely best applied with the fingers (it just absorbs straight into the cotton wool). It reminds me a bit of antibacterial hand gel, it has a similar consistency and it evaporates/dries within about 30 seconds.
Hydrating Toning Gel does leave the skin feeling fresh before moisturising, but it did take me a while to get used to applying my toner as a gel rather than a liquid. Personally I think I prefer to use a toning liquid wiped over the face on a cotton wool pad as I like the action of wiping away any left over grime. If you fancy trying something new though I would highly recommend this toning gel as I love the Living Nature brand and their natural philosophy. I think I will be sticking to my Organic Surge Orange Flower Toner (review coming soon) for the time being though as I prefer using a liquid toner.
