Living Nature – Foundation

This foundation* from New Zealand natural beauty brand Living Nature has won ‘Best Liquid Foundation’ in the latest edition of The Ultimate Natural Beauty Bible by Sarah Stacey and Josephine Fairley. This is a great achievement for a brand that is so little known here in the UK and I really hope it raises the profile of Living Nature as it is a brand that I really admire (I have recently reviewed their Luminous Pressed Powder, you can read that review here).
All of Living Nature’s skincare and make-up products are made from 100% natural ingredients, and this foundation contains antimicrobial Manuka Oil, one of New Zealand’s unique botanicals which helps to protect your complexion making it a great choice for those with problem skin.
I have been using this foundation for around a week now and I am really pleased with it. I generally use a Tinted Moisturiser as I can sometimes find that foundations are too thick and suffocate my skin, but as this Living Nature foundation is so liquid I find that it is really light and doesn’t feel too heavy. It really is quite runny and this makes it easy to apply and blend on the skin, although it can take a couple of minutes to thoroughly dry on your skin. I have been using the Buff shade, which is fairly pale but it does have a gentle tan shade to it and doesn’t make me look too white.
I’ve just realised how dry and lined my hands look in the image above….. *disappears off to apply handcream….*
You can see the Buff shade more clearly in the image above, I have applied it to the inside of my wrist which is very pale so you can see that the foundation stands out here – but it matches with the skin on my face perfectly.
I have been applying it with a Bobbi Brown Foundation Brush – a great quality brush although they have become a little bit more expensive over the past couple of years. I apply a couple of squirts of the liquid foundation to the back of my hand, then apply it gradually to my face using the brush in soft, fluid strokes. I have then been setting it with a quick dusting of loose translucent powder, although it doesn’t need much as the finish is already quite matt and even.
I would really recommend this foundation, it’s so easy to use and gives a lovely smooth finish. Plus it’s made from natural ingredients so you can have peace of mind that you know exactly what you’re applying to your skin.
There are 5 shades of foundation available from Living Nature, however there are no shades for dark skin. They are priced at £28.06 each for 30ml, available from Living Nature – international delivery is available. If you’d prefer to order from a UK supplier then it is also available from Naturisimo, priced at £28.
