Limited edition Summer 2015 products from Clarins

I love a limited edition product, they always seem to have such a buzz around them and these two offerings from Clarins are no exception.
They are Instant Light Radiance Boosting Complexion Base in Apricot* and Summer Bronzing Compact*, both part of the Clarins Aquatic Treasures Summer Make-Up Collection which was launched in May 2015. Aquatic Treasures is all about capturing the textures and shades of the ocean and all of the products within the limited edition collection aim to illuminate the skin and help give a glowing complexion.
Instant Light Radiance Boosting Complexion Base in Apricot – I’ve actually reviewed this product before but in a different shade – Rose – you can read my review of that here. It’s quite a luxury product that you can use to add a bit of colour or shimmer to your complexion. This Apricot shade is a limited edition and can be used to give your skin a healthy warm glow and it also contains Clarins’ anti-pollution complex to help protect skin from outside elements.
Instant Light Radiance Boosting Complexion Base in Apricot is a peachy-apricot coloured cream, you only need a tiny amount to cover your whole face otherwise you could end up looking a bit orange! You need to blend it carefully around your jawline too, particularly if you have pale skin like me. You can use it on its own a bit like you would a BB Cream, or you can use it underneath foundation – I prefer to wear it underneath foundation.
In the left hand swatch picture above I’ve applied the Radiance Boosting Complexion Base quite thickly, and then for the right hand picture I’ve blended it. I was a bit disappointed with it the first time I tried it as I expected it would have more of a shimmer, a bit like the Rose shade that I tried previously, but it’s growing on me each time I use it. It’s a lovely product for Summer and gives the skin a perfect golden glow, but definitely a luxury product and not a necessity – it’s something to treat yourself to.
Aquatic Treasures Summer Bronzing Compact – this Summer pressed bronzing powder falls into that category of make-up that is too pretty to actually use! The surface of the powder is embossed with a marine motif of starfish and shells and it’s just so pretty, it reminds me of a beautiful seashell when you open it up. The powder is separated into quarters – 4 matte shades of bronzer – and it’s quite subtle so it suits all skintones even really pale ones.
As with the Radiance Boosting Complexion Base this bronzer also contains Clarins’ anti-pollution complex to help protect skin from free radicals and pollution.
The palette itself is quite big, probably a bit too big to keep in a handbag for touch ups, but it’s perfect to swoosh a big soft brush over and use on the rest of the body as well as the face – I’m thinking collar bones, arms and the front of calves to give an all-over-glow.
In the swatch image above you can hardly see the bronzer, that’s how subtle it is, but you can build up coverage gradually to get the tan that you want, and it’s perfect for pale skins as it doesn’t make you look too dark or orange.
This is going to be a staple product for me this Summer and it’s going to last ages too as it’s so big. I just hate damaging the pretty embossing every time I use it!
Both of these Summer Clarins products are limited edition so grab them while you can. They both come in the usual iconic crimson red boxes.
Instant Light Radiance Boosting Complexion Base in shade 04 Apricot is priced at £26.50 for 30ml, available from Clarins.
01/03/2016 UPDATE – as the Summer Bronzing Compact was a limited edition product it is no longer available from the Clarins website. However you may be lucky and find one for sale on eBay!
