Leo Bancroft Moroccan Miracle Argan Oil Review

I was recently asked by Beauty At Tesco to try out some of Leo Bancroft’s new hair products, so today I am reviewing Moroccan Miracle Argan Oil.

Argan oil is the ingredient of the moment and has been appearing in all sorts of hair products recently. It’s a plant oil that is produced from the kernels of the argan tree that grows in Morocco, and it is used to condition and moisturise hair and it also tames flyaway ends and provides a finishing gloss. This Moroccan Miracle Argan Oil from Leo Bancroft isn’t pure argan oil though, it does contain other ingredients and feels a bit more like a serum than a pure oil. It is clear with no fragrance, and you only need a couple of pumps from the bottle otherwise any more would make hair greasy and sticky.

The product should be rubbed between your palms then distributed through damp hair evenly avoiding the roots, before drying and styling the hair. I do think that my hair feels slightly softer after using this product, and it reminds me a bit of John Frieda Frizz Ease Original Hair Serum which I use quite often, although the Leo Bancroft product is cheaper. You can also use this product to add shine and gloss once the hair is dry and has been styled, but again you only need the tiniest drop rubbed in your palms otherwise it will make hair look greasy.

I have wavy, thick blonde hair which I usually straighten, but occasionally in the Summer or when I am on holiday I will leave my hair to dry naturally and go wavy and I often have problems with frizz. I think that this Moroccan Miracle Argan Oil would be great for these occasions, as it should tame the frizz better than a regular serum, and I will definitely be trying it out on my wavy hair soon.

I like Leo Bancroft’s eye-catching purple packaging, although the grey and purple does remind me a bit of John Frieda’s branding.

UPDATE 21st August 2017 – sadly the Leo Bancroft range of haircare products has been discontinued. If you’re looking for a good Argan Oil to treat and style your hair I can recommend this Hair Xpertise Argan Oil which is priced at £7.32 for 100ml, available from Superdrug. Alternatively John Frieda Frizz Ease Original Serum is one of my favourites for smoothing and taming wild locks.
