Lancome Hypnose Star Mascara Review

Now I have briefly reviewed this mascara before, a year ago, when I compared Lancôme Hypnose Mascara vs Hypnose Star Mascara, and I really liked it. The Christmas tree shaped brush aims to effortlessly coat the lashes and to enhance their natural curl.

The thin pointy end of the brush is really great for painting those fine, short inner lashes too, ensuring you cover every part of every lash. You can see from the image below that my lashes look well coated, and the upper lashes have a lovely, natural upward curl.

One of the things that I love about Lancôme Hypnose Star Mascara (well, all of the Hypnose mascara range really) is that it doesn’t smudge underneath my eyes – something that I experience with a lot of mascaras.

I’ve been using the black shade which is called ‘Noir Midnight’, it’s also available in Sparkling Brown.

I like the glitter effect on the bottom of the mascara tube, although it’s a bit tricky to photograph! I love Lancôme’s silver box packaging too, and I find the Lancôme stands in Boots so enticing!

Another of my favourite mascaras is Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara which I reviewed last year, it gives me the thickest, blackest lashes ever but unfortunately I do experience a little bit of the aforementioned smudging with this one :0(

Lancôme Hypnose Star Mascara isn’t cheap, but then I do think you often need to pay good money for a truly good mascara and it’s one of the make-up products that I don’t mind shelling out a little bit on.

Lancôme Hypnose Star Mascara is priced at £22.50, available from Feel Unique.

  1. Thanks for recommending this – I’m always on the hunt for a new mascara. I’ve been using Benefit for a while but although I love the look, both of the ones I use do end up smudging at some point during the day. This is in the same price range so I’ll have to give it a go xx

    • It’s definitely worth a try Laura. The other brand that I find doesn’t smudge is Max Factor – either False Lash Effect or 2000 Calorie mascaras. Hope that helps! xx
