Lancome Gentle Softening Cleansing Fluid Review

I received this sample size of Lancome’s Gentle Softening Cleansing Fluid (Galateis Douceur) in my Selfridges Beauty Advent Calendar in December, although I have purchased it in the past. It’s a really simple, gentle product, and can also be used around the delicate eye area reducing the need for a separate eye make-up remover.

The product is a very light milky white lotion and it has a gentle creamy scent. It turns almost transparent when you warm it in your hands before applying it gently to the face.

I have combination skin with a particularly oily chin but this Gentle Softening Cleansing Fluid doesn’t feel oily at all on the skin, just gentle and light, and I think it would be great for oily skins. It would also be great to use in Summer when skin naturally produces more oil in humid temperatures (if we get a Summer that is!).

My skin feels light and refreshed after using this product, but not dry, and it does easily remove eye make-up without making my eyes feel sore.

It’s definitely a good product for those with oily or sensitive skin or sensitive eyes. It’s not cheap though, and I do like to scrimp on my cleanser where I can in order to spend a little bit more on face treatments and moisturisers.

Gentle Softening Cleansing Fluid starts at £23 for 200ml, and is available from Lancome. Watch out for Lancome’s bonus gifts though as they sometimes give away a sample of this cleanser when you buy 2 other products.
