Lancome – Bi-Facil Make-Up Remover

Today I wanted to share one of my favourite eye make-up remover products with you. Unfortunately I don’t currently have a full-sized bottle to photograph, so the image above is of a sample-sized bottle that I received in last year’s Selfridge’s Beauty Advent Calendar. I have included a stock image below of the full-sized product though so you can see what it looks like.
Lancome Bi-Facil Make-Up Remover is a bi-phase liquid, this means that the liquid is split into 2 layers – a pale turquoise layer at the bottom and a darker blue layer on top. You need to shake the bottle before use, and the 2 layers merge into one shimmery pale blue layer. You can see the bi-phase 2 layers clearly in the stock image below…
The bottle of the Bi-Facil Make-Up Remover says that it is non-oily but I actually disagree, I do feel that it has a slightly oily texture but this is why I like it. It has a pleasant fragrance and glides over the skin effortlessly on a cotton wool pad and doesn’t drag the skin at all. It leaves the eye area feeling gently moisturised, but not greasy, and it removes mascara and eye liner in a flash. It’s probably not the most natural of all eye make-up remover products, but for me it does the job so well that I’d rather use this than some other more natural product that needs rubbing and wiping.
I have been using Lancome Bi-Facil Make-Up Remover at night recently to remove eye make-up, as I have been washing my face with Salcura Antiac Daily Face Wash (you can read my review of that here) which doesn’t tackle eye make-up very well. Just apply a little of the blue product to a cotton wool pad, wipe over the eyes a couple of times and all eye make-up has been melted and removed.
Bi-Facil Make-Up Remover is suitable for contact lens wearers and those with sensitive eyes and even removes waterproof mascara. It’s not cheap, but as you don’t use much each night a bottle does last a long time.
Bi-Facil Make-Up Remover is priced at £21 for 125ml, available from Lancome.
