I am currently taking part in an initiative working with BNT News International, a global beauty/fashion/lifestyle and entertainment source based in Seoul, South Korea. I am helping BNT to promote a selection of new and exciting Korean beauty products to a UK audience, these are products that you probably won’t have seen before and some of them are really different and unique.
You may have already seen some of my previous Korean beauty reviews, such as this post about 3CE Duo Cover Crayon.
This is the Bounce Up Pact Ultra* from Chosungah 22 which is a Korean brand I’d never heard of before I was sent this product to try out. Chosungah is the name of the first professional make-up artist in Korea and her brand of make-up offers products ‘with a twist, allowing women all over the world to enjoy make-up as a form of play’.
This is basically a thick powder foundation product but it gets its name from the fact that it’s made of a mixture of oil and powder molecules, when you apply it to the face the oil compounds ‘pop’ providing a moisturising effect and giving a ‘bouncy’ soft effect. I have to admit that I haven’t actually worn this make-up very much as it’s a bit too dark for my pale skin (it’s the 01 Light Beige shade) but sadly whilst it applies very nicely using the spongy soft applicator I do find that it turns a bit dry and cakey after a few hours.
You can also see from the swatch image above that it shows up every line and wrinkle on my skin making it look a bit crepey. On the positive side Bounce Up Pact Ultra incorporates SPF50 so it protects skin from the sun’s harmful rays very well and the box also includes a spare pan of product and a spare applicator too so you’re getting double for your money and it’s not too expensive either!
Personally I don’t think this is a product well suited to my skin but I’m definitely going to check out some more Chosungah 22 make-up as I love the packaging and the ethos of the brand. I was also pleased to see that the brand is stocked on Sephora.com too. It’s obviously a brand that is becoming more popular in the Western world, Chosungah is holding a press event in New York today (22nd March 2016) to raise awareness and magazines such as Cosmopolitan will be covering the event.
Chosungah 22 Bounce Up Pact Ultra is priced at $36 (around £25) from Sephora, although they don’t seem to stock this Light Beige shade.
