John Frieda Luxurious Volume Blow Dry Lotion & Blow-Out Spray

I was recently asked to try out Luxurious Volume Blow Dry Lotion Root Booster and Luxurious Volume Blow-Out Spray from John Frieda’s Luxurious Volume range. The aim of these products is to make hair look visibly fuller, lift the roots and give the look and feel of more hair.

I already have quite thick hair, but I find it difficult to get much volume into it as I usually straighten it and this can make it go a bit limp, so I was hoping for great things from these products.

John Frieda Luxurious Volume Blow-Out Spray

Fine to Full Blow-Out Spray aims to create natural volume by plumping fine hair from the root to the tip. You just spray a fine mist of the product throughout towel-dried hair, then blow dry as usual.

John Frieda Fine To Full Blow-Out Spray is priced at £6.99 for 125ml at Boots.

Blow Dry Lotion Root Booster helps create the perfect lift at the crown of the head by boosting volume at the roots. This product should also be sprayed onto towel-dried hair, but you should concentrate on applying it at the roots only for crown volume, and then blow dry as usual. I did find it a little difficult to concentrate the Root Booster product on the roots of my hair, I had to lift up the lengths of my hair then spray the product underneath as near to the scalp as I could manage.

When trying out these hair volume products I applied them both to my freshly washed then towel-dried hair. After applying both product I then blow-dried my hair using a big flat paddle brush. I do usually leave my hair to dry naturally so it was a nice treat to have a blow-dry.

I found that my finished style did have good volume particularly at the roots, although this could partly have been because I was also focusing on trying to create volume with my brush whilst blow-drying. I was very impressed with the texture of my hair after using the Luxurious Volume products too, there was no stickiness or residue, and my hair felt lovely and soft.

UPDATE 19th August 2017 – the packaging of both of these products has changed since I wrote this review, however they’re still the same products inside the bottles.
