Jelly Pong Pong Fairy Lashes Mascara Review

This Fairy Lashes Mascara from Jelly Pong Pong was nestled inside my May Glossybox. I had heard of Jelly Pong Pong before but had never tried any of their products, and I just loved the design on the box so I was very excited to try this.

The Jelly Pong Pong philosophy is all about ‘creating products which evoke the dreamer in you’ and I guess this is why they named this mascara ‘Fairy Lashes’. Jelly Pong Pong’s packaging is really pretty with boxes displaying flower illustrations and flowing fonts, but this feel doesn’t necessarily follow through to the products themselves – the mascara tube is a plain purple and rather boring when compared with the pretty box.

Fairy Lashes water-resistant mascara was developed to make ‘eyelashes thicker & curvier while allowing them to be spectacularly soft & light’ and I did find that it applied really nicely. The brush is smallish and very easy to use, and it gives a fairly even application of mascara with no clumps. If you are wanting natural-looking fine lashes then this mascara is for you, but if you dream of really thick-looking lashes then I would perhaps look elsewhere.

Despite the nice look of this product on the lashes, I did get the odd black smudge under my eyes whilst wearing it, a problem that I encounter with most water-resistant/waterproof mascaras. And I wasn’t very impressed with what happened when I tried to remove Fairy Lashes with make-up remover or cleanser – the mascara sort of dissolved into little black slimy jelly-like blobs that I had to wipe away with cotton wool.

Overall I would suggest that this mascara is OK, particularly if you are looking for a black waterproof mascara that gives a natural result. It is priced at £15 though, and I feel at that price it needs to give a little bit extra as there are a lot of great waterproof mascaras out there for a lot less money.

I will use this Jelly Pong Pong Fairy Lashes Mascara but I probably wouldn’t repurchase it when it runs out. I would be interested in trying out some of Jelly Pong Pong’s other offerings though, they do some great gift sets and cute palettes.

Jelly Pong Pong Fairy Lashes Mascara is priced at £15 and is available from Jelly Pong Pong.
