Jason – Pure Natural Deodorant Stick

For a while now I have been reading about the benefits of all-natural beauty products (or rather the pitfalls and risks of the chemical nasties that are in our everyday skincare products) and my aim is to gradually replace my regular skincare with products that contain natural ingredients. So when I came across Jason Natural I decided to try out some of their products, the first is this ‘Naturally Fresh’ unscented Pure Natural Deodorant Stick (other fragrances are available).
Firstly I just want to say how much I WANTED this to be great. In my mind I would try it for a few days, it would be just as effective as my regular Dove deodorant stick, and so I would throw away my old deodorant and use this natural replacement forever….. simples! Unfortunately it wasn’t that simple(s). The Jason deodorant looks great at first glance – it is a wind-up stick type, the packaging and labelling are nice and clear, and it has a very feint fragrance which can only be smelt if you put the stick right up to your nose. It applies nicely to the underarm too, feeling very similar to my usual Dove deodorant stick. But that is where the similarities stop unfortunately. Surely the whole point of a deodorant is to stop you from sweating and to prevent any smell? Sadly this product does neither of these. I have never had a problem with sweating or odour before, but after half an hour of wearing this Jason product my underarms were damp and giving off a rather unpleasant odour (sorry!). I can only think that the smell is actually caused by the product itself. In fact, I think I would have been better off not wearing any deodorant at all!
Overall this is a very disappointing product, given that it doesn’t actually do what it is supposed to do, and it will certainly not be gracing a position on my dressing table.
The Jason Pure Natural Deodorant Stick costs £4.99, and can be purchased from Jason Natural Care.
I do admire Jason’s philosophy of ‘…give consumers an alternative choice to mass-market, chemically dependent products…’ and will be reviewing more Jason products soon, hopefully they will give better results that this deodorant did.
