Go Cruelty Free With Beautiful Movements Review

This month I’m partnering up with Cruelty Free International and Beautiful Movements Cosmetics to help educate my readers all about animal testing on cosmetics, and to promote the ‘Go Cruelty Free’ pledge.

Did you know that 80% of the world still allows animals to be used in cruel tests for cosmetics? And almost all countries still allow animal testing for cleaning products. Countless rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, mice and rats suffer and die worldwide in routine animal tests for the ingredients that go into deodorant, lipstick and washing up liquid. But it doesn’t have to be this way; animal tests are being replaced with quicker, cheaper and more reliable non-animal methods and companies can use ingredients which are already known to be safe.

One way to help the fight against animal testing is to only buy make-up from brands that carry the ‘Leaping Bunny’ logo. It’s the only globally recognised guarantee that a brand has made a genuine commitment to ending animal testing for its products. You can sign up to take the Cruelty Free pledge here!

Leaping Bunny Mark

The Leaping Bunny mark

Beautiful Movements Cosmetics is one such brand that carries that Leaping Bunny logo. They offer cruelty free, paraben free mineral make-up that is free from artificial fragrances and suitable for vegetarians and vegans. The brand used to be known as BM Beauty and one of their co-founders is stunning ex-Pussycat Doll Kimberley Wyatt.

I’ve been trying out three Beautiful Movements products…

Beautiful Movements Lip Gloss Indian Summer

Beautiful Movements Lip Gloss* – the first of the products I want to tell you about is this pretty Lip Gloss. The thing that I love most of all about this product is that it doesn’t feel sticky or gloopy like a lot of lip glosses, it just feels like a regular glossy moisturising lipstick on your lips.

I’ve been using the Indian Summer shade, it’s a pretty pinky brown with a hint of gold shimmer in it. It looks quite dark in the tube but it actually looks really natural on the lips…

Beautiful Movements Lip Gloss Indian Summer Lips

I prefer to wear the Indian Summer Lip Gloss it on its own and being a natural colour it doesn’t require lip liner either, unless you want to apply it. But being somewhere between a pink and a brown shade it would look good worn over either shade of lipstick too.

I do think it has a slightly funny taste to it, but it’s actually quite refreshing to try a lip gloss that hasn’t had loads of vanilla or raspberry flavouring added to it!

Last year I also previously reviewed the Nude Lip Gloss shade, which is one of Kimberley Wyatt’s favourites!

Beautiful Movements Mineral Blush Velvet Dawn

Beautiful Movements Mineral Blush* – the next product is this loose mineral powder blusher available in two shades, I’ve been using the pink Velvet Dawn, the other shade available is called Peachy Glow. It’s an all natural mineral product that comes in loose powder form, you can just sprinkle a little powder out of the sifter into the lid then swoosh a big blusher brush over it. I like to use my Bobbi Brown Face Blender Brush but Beautiful Movements also offer a range of cruelty free make-up brushes which are great value.

Velvet Dawn is a dusky rose pink with a golden shimmer to it, it gives a similar finish to the Bobbi Brown Rose Shimmer Brick, but it’s much cheaper!

Beautiful Movements Finishing Powder Dewy Perfection

Beautiful Movements Finishing Powder* – this shade is called Dewy Perfection and you sweep it all over your face to even out skintone and add a light glow. I find it works really well worn over BB Cream and it helps to absorb any shine. It is quite pale though so I wouldn’t recommend it if you have dark or tanned skin and it can make skin look a shade lighter. As with the Mineral Blush the easiest way to apply it is to sift a little bit into the lid then swish a large brush over the powder to pick it up, a Stippling Brush is quite good for this as it helps to ‘press’ the powder onto the skin.
