Glossybox – June 2013

My June Glossybox is here! The theme of this one is ‘Summer Looks’ and it is quite make-up focused with some good full-sized products.
I really do get excited when I am opening my Glossybox, I love taking off the lid, untying the ribbon and peeling back the tissue paper to find out what is nestled inside!
The first item is a full-sized 25ml John Frieda Frizz-Ease Original Hair Serum which retails at £6.29. I use this product all the time to tame my frizzy hair, so whilst it’s not particulary new and exciting it is well received!
The second product is a full-sized Eye Inspire Mono Eyeshadow in Mirage from affordable boutique make-up brand Me Me Me, which retails at £4.99. It is a lovely shimmery coffee brown colour and I think this will work really nicely as an accent colour on the eyes.
The third product is another full-sized make-up product, a Waterproof Protective Lip Liner pencil in shade 4 from Helen E priced at £8. I have tried Helen E’s lip products before, with mixed feelings, but I am looking forward to trying this one out. It’s a lovely berry colour and I think it will work well with both red and brown lipsticks on the lips.
The fourth product is a full-sized Cherry Blossom Lip Balm from UK natural lipcare brand Figs & Rouge, priced at £4.95. I love the packaging of this and it’s going to fit great in my handbag. I’m not yet sure what to expect from a lip balm in a tube, and I am hoping it won’t be too runny, but I’m a sucker for natural products so this will be the first of my June Glossybox products that I try out!
The only skincare product in June’s Glossybox is a small 30ml bottle of Monu Hydrating Moisturiser with SPF15. I’ve not heard of Monu before, but if you regularly read my posts you will know that I don’t entertain daytime moisturisers if they don’t contain sun protection, and it is also free from parabens so I’ve got my fingers crossed that this is going to be a great product. A full size 50ml bottle of this retails at £29.95.
I am really looking forward to trying the Monu Hydrating Moisturiser and the Me Me Me Eye Inspire Mono Eyeshadow. I will be reviewing all of the products in full over the coming weeks, so keep an eye on Beauty Best Friend for those.
For those of you who don’t know about Glossybox it is a monthly subscription-based make-up and skincare box. Each box costs £10 plus P&P and contains around 6 goodies (some full-size products and some sample sizes), the retail prices of which add up to way more than the £10 you pay for it. It is a way for consumers to try out new products and for brands to get their products known, and there is usually a good mix of well-known brands and some less-well-known or new brands in each box. It’s so great to see that Glossybox are embracing natural beauty products, several of the products that I received in my box contain natural ingredients and are paraben-free. Long may it continue!
