Glossybox – July 2013

Here it is! My July Glossybox! The theme of this one is Seaside Splash, and they are all products suitable for a seaside getaway. I’m not too keen on the turquoise and orange seaside-themed box, it’s not as pretty as the usual Glossyboxes, but there is a good selection of products inside – albeit small ones!
Here is what I got in my July Glossybox…
My first and favourite product is a full-size Ciate Paint Pots nail varnish in a lovely nude pinky-beige colour called Pocket Money which retails at around £9. I’ve never tried Ciate products before although I have been reading a lot about them recently, and I just love the little bow on the front which makes this bottle stand out from other nail paints. Looks like it would make a perfect base colour for nail art too!
The second product is a full-size 100ml Spray Misty For Me Facial Spritz from Anatomicals which retails at £6. I’ve never tried a face spritz before but it’s definitely the right time of year for a product like this! I have put this in the fridge so that it will help deliver an icy-cool blast of refreshment!
The third product is a sample size 25ml bottle of Bamboo Style Boho Waves Tousled Texture Mist from Alterna, the full size 125ml bottle retails at £23. Now I’m not too sure about this one, I spend so much time trying to smooth and straighten my frizzy hair that I’m not so sure I want tousles and texture! I will give it a go though, it might be good to give a bit of texture to an up-do. I will try it out and report back!
Product number four is a very small 7ml tube of Tinted Moisturiser from the Coola Organic Suncare collection containing SPF 20. This natural product contains no parabens, and I am a big fan of both natural products and products that contain sun protection so I am really looking forward to using this, I am just a bit disappointed with the size of the sample. The full size 50ml tube of this retails at £29.99.
The fifth product is another teeny sample – a 10ml tube of Radiance Serum from Pukka Ayurveda. Another natural product this is supposed to give you a ‘Summer glow’ and leave your skin feeling fresh and bright. The full-sized 50ml tube of Radiance Serum is priced at £32.
I am most looking forward to trying the Coola Organic Suncare Tinted Moisturiser and the Ciate nail paint. I will be reviewing all of the products in full over the coming weeks, so keep an eye on Beauty Best Friend for those.
For those of you who don’t know about Glossybox it is a monthly subscription-based make-up and skincare box. Each box costs £10 plus P&P and contains 5-6 goodies (some full-size products and some sample sizes), the retail prices of which add up to way more than the £10 you pay for it. It is a way for consumers to try out new products and for brands to get their products known, and there is usually a good mix of well-known brands and some less-well-known or new brands in each box. It’s so great to see that Glossybox are embracing natural beauty products, several of the products that I received in my box contain natural ingredients and are paraben-free. Long may it continue!
