Essie – Nail Polish in Hide & Go Chic

Essie Hide & Go Chic Nail Polish Review

This is the first Essie nail polish that I have actually ever owned, although I have worn lots of their colours over the years courtesy of my local beauty salon. It’s only been in the last few years that you’ve been able to pick up Essie polishes on the high street, and I always thought that they were a little bit too expensive when compared to other high street brands so I never invested but I know that there are a lot of people out there that have vast collections of Essie colours and buy nothing else.

Hide & Go Chic is a muted denim blue colour with quite a glossy finish (you can see in the image above that it is reflecting the light from the window where I took the photo!). The brush is really flat and wide (almost as wide as the nail on my tiny little finger) which means that it takes less strokes to apply the polish across the whole nail and makes it quicker and easier to get a neat finish.

I like Essie’s packaging, the square bottles are simple but recognisable and the flat edges make it easy to stack them together or line them up in a drawer.

I like this Essie nail polish in Hide & Go Chic, it lives up to its name and it really IS chic. I’ve been wearing it for 4 days now and there is no chipping at all, although the polish on the very ends of my nails is starting to wear away.

Essie Hide & Go Chic reminds me of the Chanel shade Blue Boy (a review of that coming soon). There are hundreds of Essie nail shades available, I love the pale baby pinks and whites.

Essie Nail Polish in Hide & Go Chic is priced at £7.99 and is available from Superdrug. Alternatively why not treat yourself to this Essie Spring 2014 Mini Collection, containing 4 polishes (one of which is Hide & Go Chic), priced at just £16.95 with FREE delivery from Look Fantastic.

  1. What a perfect summery shade! Essie rarely gets it wrong 🙂

  2. Essie is my favourite nail polish brand. This looks a fabulous colour, and definitely going to have to hunt that colour down. My favourites are Mint Candy Apple and Bikini So Teeny from Essie.
