Embryolisse – Lait-Creme Concentre

So who doesn’t love a multi-tasking beauty product? I certainly do and Lait-Creme Concentre from Embryolisse is one of those products with multiple uses. Actually it’s a bit of a cult product with a celebrity following – Emma Willis, Ariana Grande and Scarlett Johansen are all said to use this multi-tasking moisturising cream, and one is sold every 60 seconds!
Unfortunately the ingredients include Paraffinum Liquidum which is sometimes known as Mineral Oil, and is a by-product of paraffin production present in a lot of moisturising products. I try to avoid this ingredient where I can and I’d love to see Embryolisse replace this with a more natural oil ingredient.
Lait-Creme Concentre is a white cream and it has a traditional scent that reminds me of old-fashioned cold cream. The tube is metallic and you have to pierce the foil seal with the spike inside the end of the lid, the same as you do with Savlon and other medicated creams and gels. I quite like this touch, it means you know that the product is untouched and sterile when you buy it.
So what can you use Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentre for? It would probably be quicker for me to list the uses that this product doesn’t help with! Primarily a moisturiser for both morning and evening, the cream also doubles up as a primer leaving the skin with a smooth satin feel that makes it easy to apply make-up over the top. It can also be used as a make-up remover, a moisturising face mask, an aftershave cream for men or women and is also said to be gentle enough to use on a baby’s sensitive skin (although personally I’d never use anything that contains Mineral Oil on my baby).
I’ve been using Lait-Creme Concentre as a daytime moisturiser for around two weeks now. I have combination skin and find that the rich cream is perfect for sorting out my dry cheeks and forehead, but it’s a little bit too thick for my oily chin so I use it sparingly on that area. I predict that it’ll be great in Winter when the cold weather and central heating ravage skin and you need something a bit richer to nourish it.
I mentioned earlier that Lait-Creme Concentre can also be used as a moisturising face mask and I recently tried this out. It forms a rich, non-drying creamy coating on the skin and is best left for 5 to 10 minutes, or you can leave it on overnight for ultra moisturising results (just be sure to wash your pillow case the next day!). It leaves my skin feeling plump and hydrated after rinsing off with warm water, it’s probably too rich for my oily chin and cheeks so used on a regular basis I’d probably pair it with another mask and just apply it to my drier forehead and neck.
Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentre is priced at £20 for 75ml, available from Boots.
