Elemis Biotec Facial Treatment

A couple of weeks ago I was invited to the Elemis counter at Harvey Nichols in Leeds for a complimentary Biotec facial and to find out all about this new range. I say Elemis ‘counter’ – it’s actually a space where you can relax and try out the products, chat with the salesperson and they’ve even got a little hidden away treatment area where you can have a fantastic relaxing facial.
I’d never heard of the Biotec range before and salesperson Sarah explained how it’s been developed for use when your usual skincare routine isn’t working. It helps to energise skin cells so that they react better to your usual products and treatments, so you can use it for short bursts every now and again if your skin isn’t feeling quite right.
Then Sarah analysed my skin using the Elemis super-computer. She took a close-up photo of my skin then the system showed all the areas where my face had sun damage, wrinkles, uneven skintone, blemishes, oil or dehydrated patches. I was pleased to see that it couldn’t pick up many wrinkles but there were some dehydrated and oily places and a lot of sun damage. This information is then used to determine which of the Biotec facials is best for each client, we decided to go for the Skin Resurfacer treatment to help the areas of my face where I have uneven skintone due to teenage acne and also combat the sun damage (I also have some dark pigment patches around my eyes due to being pregnant last year).
The booklet in the image below shows a full list of the 8 Biotec treatments that are available:
So then we went off to the little treatment pod – it felt really relaxing, you’d never had guessed we were in the middle of the busy store. My facial was carried out using the Biotec products and I had a few minutes to relax with a sheet face mask on whilst the massage chair actually massaged my legs – absolute heaven!
Sarah was really helpful answering all my questions about the products, and after the facial I was given a goody bag full of Elemis skincare and bodycare samples to try. I wasn’t too sure that my skin felt much different straight after the facial, but a couple of days later I was looking in the mirror and thinking that my skin looked really bright and clear as the treatment had got rid of all those dead skin cells and smoothed out all the dry and rough patches. I guess the sign of a good facial is that the benefits last much longer than just a couple of hours after the treatment and these certainly did.
I’d really recommend the Elemis service, I was really impressed by the consultation that I had before the facial and the fact that they look at your skin in such detail before prescribing what is right for you.
If you’re interested in finding out more about Elemis and their new Biotec products and treatments then head to your nearest Elemis counter or visit the Elemis website. I’d really recommend the counter in the Leeds Harvey Nichols store, but they’re situated all over the country so there’s bound to be one not too far from you.
