Crabtree & Evelyn – Garden Celebration Blogger Event, York

I was lucky enough to attend the Garden Celebration blogger event held at the Crabtree & Evelyn store in York last Thursday evening. The event was being held to celebrate the new garden-inspired bodycare ranges and the theme was all things afternoon tea!
We were welcomed with fizz, fruit juice or one of Crabtree & Evelyn’s own fruit tea blends and invited to have a luxurious hand treatment. I had a hand scrub using Rosewater Hand Recovery Scrub and my hands were then moisturised and massaged using the matching Rosewater Hand Therapy moisturiser. I love the fragrance of rose, and these products smell really natural, not over-sweet like you sometimes get with synthetic rose fragrances. My hands were left smelling lovely and fragrant for the rest of the evening!
After this I had a look round at all of the bodycare products that Crabtree & Evelyn had to offer. I’d been under the impression that the brand was a bit ‘old ladyish’ (sorry Crabtree & Evelyn!), but no more! I would say their closest rivals would be brands like L’Occitane and Molton Brown, and I particularly loved the way that they creatively displayed their products.
Check out the way that these cute little handcreams are displayed in a flowerpot… continuing the theme of the garden celebration!
Something else that surprised me about the Crabtree & Evelyn brand was that they sell their own food! Also inspired by natural flavours they have a wide range of fruit teas, jams, sweets and biscuits and we were encouraged to try out several different flavours of biscuit and then vote for our favourite! I voted for the White Chocolate & Raspberry biscuits, but I also particularly enjoyed their thick Shortbread biscuits too.
I can’t recommend their food items enough, and this sentiment was echoed by all of the other bloggers who attended the event too. The packaging makes them perfect for giving as gifts and I’ll definitely be back to stock up later in the year… I fancy making up some Christmas food hampers using the fruit teas and biscuits!
I was also lucky enough to win a food hamper on the night… stuffed with biscuits, sweets, jams, teas and even a traditional mug…
I had an amazing time at the Crabtree & Evelyn Garden Celebration blogger event and made loads of new friends. I hadn’t realised that there were so many bloggers in the York area and it was really nice to be put in touch with them. I really enjoyed talking to parent blogger Jen who writes Mum In The Madhouse and here I am at the event with Rhian of Chapter & Circle and Laura of Laura Knows Life Style….
At the end of the evening I was sent home with a goody bag containing a selection of Crabtree & Evelyn bodycare products and more yummy biscuits! The image below shows what was inside the goody bag…. who knew that Crabtree & Evelyn did nail polish!?
I’ll be reviewing some of these products separately at a later date…
I can’t end this post without mentioning the staff at Crabtree & Evelyn in York too…. Everyone who works there was so friendly and helpful, and extremely knowledgeable about their products and the ingredients. Everyone was so welcoming and chatty and I’ll definitely be popping in to see them all again next time I’m in York.
So, next time you pass a Crabtree & Evelyn store, why not pop in and have a look at what they’ve got to offer? Perhaps treat yourself to some luxury biscuits and shortbread, or sample their beautifully scented handcare products? I’m sure you won’t be disappointed!
Or have a look at the Crabtree & Evelyn website, there’s FREE DELIVERY when you spend over £15.
