Collection – Volume Sensation Lipstick in Satin Bow

Whilst I was doing the weekly shop in Tesco a couple of weeks ago I picked up this Volume Sensation Lipstick from budget make-up experts Collection (formerly Collection 2000). The Volume Sensation range contains plumping ingredients which are supposed to make your lips look fuller.
First, let me start with the packaging. I’m not actually too keen on the reddy-pink tube as I think it looks a bit cheap, but it certainly does look different to all of the other budget lipsticks that are out there, most of which have black tubes. The tube is quite thick and chunky and doesn’t feel flimsy at all, it’s good and strong and the twist function works well.
I was looking for something creamy and nude so I went for the Satin Bow shade. It’s a peachy nude shade, with a warm tone – perfect for Spring. It’s quite sheer and it has the most amazing taste and scent of vanilla. The texture feels creamy on the lips, it feels much more premium than you sometimes expect from a budget lipstick.
Here you can see what it looks like on my lips. It’s quite a pale shade, perfect for pale skintones. I wear it with a feint smudge of Clarins Lipliner Pencil in Chocolate which is actually a little bit dark for this lipstick (but it’s the only brown-y shade I’ve got) and then I blend the lipliner gently with the lipstick using a soft brush.
I’m not too sure that my lips were plumped by the lipstick, but the glossy finish certainly makes them look luscious and full.
I really like this Volume Sensation Lipstick in Satin Bow and I’m definitely planning to have a look at some of the other Collection shades next time I’m in Tesco – there are 11 colours to choose from in total.
Volume Sensation Lipstick in Satin Bow is priced at £2.99, available instore at Tesco, or online from Superdrug.
