Clarins Pure And Radiant Mask Review

The New Year is traditionally a time when people detox and try different ways to re-energise and rejuvenate their bodies after a busy and excessive Christmas period, and it’s no different for our skin. So when the lovely people at Clarins asked me if I would like to review one of their products in the New Year I said I would like to review a skincare product that would be perfect for tired and dehydrated skin, and they sent me this Pure And Radiant Mask from their Truly Matte range.

Pure And Radiant is a deep-purifying mask that contains refreshing Pink Clay. It aims to clean and tighten the skin whilst refining pores, leaving a fresh matte result. It also helps to  comfort red or irritated skin which is perfect for this time of year.

The mask has a soft creamy texture, is very pale peach (almost white) in colour and has a gentle divine scent. In fact when I think about it I love the smell of most of the Clarins products that I have tried. When I read that Pure And Radiant Mask contained pink clay I assumed it would be a thick, drying clay mask, but it’s not – it doesn’t feel at all like other clay masks, it’s really creamy and doesn’t dry hard on the skin. In fact, it feels very much like a moisturising mask when it is on the skin rather than a clay mask.

The mask should be left on the skin for 5-10 minutes, by which time it has dried out a bit and slightly changed colour to almost a flesh tone.

After removing the mask with a warm, damp facecloth I found that my skin felt really plump and soft, a feeling that continued for around 24 hours. The dry patches on my forehead had disappeared too, the moisturising effect of this mask is really good but as it is from the Truly Matte range it doesn’t leave skin feeling oily or greasy and is suitable for all skin types including oily and sensitive skins.

This is a really lovely, gentle mask, and I will definitely be continuing to use it when my skin feels stressed or dehydrated. It is perfect for the Winter months too, to treat skin after the effects of a long walk in the cold weather

Truly Matte Pure And Radiant Mask is priced at £21.50 for 50ml, available from Clarins.
