Clarins – Joli Rouge Lipstick in Hot Pink

This is the third Joli Rouge lipstick from Clarins that I have tested, this one is Hot Pink*, and I have really liked the previous two. I do think that Clarins keep it quite safe with their make-up range, with predictable – but very wearable – shades. The quality of their make-up products is good too and well worth the premium price.
The Joli Rouge lipstick range contains ingredients that help plump and hydrate for full, soft and supple lips, this lipstick has a lovely creamy consistency and applies really nicely. It has a feint fruity strawberry scent which is really nice. Hot Pink is a bright raspberry pink colour and the texture is lovely and buttery and sheer. It applies to the lips so very easily – either with a lip brush or straight from the tube (so long as you have a steady hand!).
The swatch image above clearly shows how glossy this colour is. I just love the sophisticated shiny silver bullet tubes too, they look really glamorous (they’re a bit of a nightmare to photograph though without getting lots of reflection!).
The image above shows Clarins Joli Rouge lipstick in Hot Pink Camellia on my lips. I had to take the photo with the light on so it’s not as clear as I would have liked, but it shows the lovely glossy raspberry colour nice and clearly. I’m not normally one to wear such a bright colour on my lips and I do find it a LITTLE bit too bright for me. I think I prefer the Joli Rouge lipstick in Pink Camellia which I reviewed previously (you can read that here) as it has more of a reddish tint to it. But overall I do think that Hot Pink is a nice lipstick.
There are 34 colours of Joli Rouge lipstick available from Clarins.
Joli Rouge lipsticks are priced at £18 each and can be purchased from Clarins.
