Clarins – Gentle Refiner Exfoliating Cream

Before I start on this review I have to admit that I’m a big Clarins fan, I’ve been using their products for years. It was the first premium beauty brand that I ever used, and I love their simple packaging and the fact that their products contain natural plant-based ingredients. So, as a result this is one of my favourite scrubs and I wanted to shout about it!
The scrub is a white/pale cream coloured cream and contains lots of tiny ‘microbeads’. A Clarins counter assistant once told me that the microbeads are all perfectly round – I’m not sure if that is true or not! – but they certainly don’t scratch or pull the skin. The exfoliating cream should be massaged gently into the skin using circular movements and then washed off with warm water. I like to use a scrub once or twice a week and this is my favourite as it is so gentle. It also has a lovely luxurious fragrance and smells quite special. It leaves my skin feeling clean and smooth, like I’ve just had a full facial.
Clarins pride themselves on using lots of natural plant-based ingredients in their products, and this Gentle Refiner contains extracts of Elderberry and Mimosa Tenuiflora (a Brazilian shrub with medicinal uses).
At £25 for 50ml it’s not the cheapest scrub you will come across, but I definitely think it is value for money. Available from the Clarins website.
