Burts Bees – Tinted Lip Balm

Another Burts Bees product review today – they are my current favourite natural cosmetics brand – and this is the second of two Burts Bees lip products that I have been testing out. You can read my first review on Burts Bees Lip Shimmer here. I think that Burts Bees are a great natural brand, striving to produce 100% natural beauty products and they also do a lot of work to help protect bees, given that a lot of their products contain beeswax. I have been using Burts Bees Tinted Lip Balm in Pink Blossom for the past week, wearing it at home when I haven’t been wearing lipstick and also using it in the evening just before I go to bed so my lips stay moisturised overnight.
Firstly I love Burts Bees’ packaging and this product doesn’t disappoint. The Tinted Lip Balm comes packaged in a cardboard tube, making it feel a bit more special than your other everyday run-of-the-mill lip balms. I just loved popping open the cardboard tubing to find the product inside, and on the pink half of the cardboard tube it talks a little bit about Burts Bees philosophy of using natural products to help promote wellbeing, which is a nice touch. The product itself is a brown coloured standard twist up bullet with the Burts Bees logo on the front.
The lip balm applies well and feels nice and soft, I also think it leaves lips feeling moisturised for quite a while, so you don’t need to reapply all the time. There is no flavour with this product, unlike a lot of the other Burts Bees lip products many of which have a tingly peppermint flavour. The only problem with this product is with the colour – it looks a rather dark pink colour in the tube but as you can see from the image below it doesn’t give much of a tint on the lips (hence the reason I can apply it at bedtime like a normal lip balm and not look like I am wearing lipstick!). I would suggest that if you want a good moisturising long-lasting lip balm you should buy this product, but if you want a lip tint then don’t bother as it doesn’t really give enough colour.
Burts Bees Tinted Lip Balms are 100% natural and contain shea butter, coconut oil and beeswax. I will continue to use Burts Bees Tinted Lip Balm in Pink Blossom as I think it’s a great little product. It is priced at £5.99 and there are 6 tint colours available from Burts Bees – I would love to try out some of the other colours to see if they give a better colour.
