Trilogy – Certified Organic Rosehip Oil

Trilogy Certified Organic Rosehip Oil Review

I purchased this Certified Organic Rosehip Oil from Trilogy months ago but it’s taken me a while to get my review finished as not long after I started using it I had a bad skin breakout caused by something else I was using and so I immediately stopped using all new products until I could work out what the problem was. Anyway, this oil has been hailed as a miracle product by many other beauty bloggers and I wanted to see what all the fuss was about so I have recently started using it again.

Many of Trilogy’s products centre around Rosehip Oil and I love the fact this product is so natural and organic. I was a bit disappointed that it didn’t smell of roses, in fact it has hardly any scent at all, but that is where my disappointment stops. It’s also claimed that Rosehip Oil can help heal scars and fade wrinkles and stretch marks, plus it’s suitable for both the body and the face. Plus, Trilogy Rosehip Oil is perfect for dehydrated or aging skin.

Trilogy Certified Organic Rosehip Oil

I have been applying Trilogy’s Rosehip Oil to my face before bed, you only need around 4 small drops and then massage them in to the skin really well using little circular movements. The oil sinks in to the skin really quickly without leaving an oily residue on the surface, although I have found that if I use the oil on my face in a morning my make-up doesn’t last as long which is why I have only been using it at night. After using the oil in an evening for around a month I found that my skin looked nice and clear and I have definitely experienced fewer blemishes since starting to use it although I’m not sure it’s had any effect on the few old acne scars I have on my cheeks. I have combination skin and the Rosehip Oil suits me quite well, it makes my dry forehead and cheeks feel lovely and hydrated but it doesn’t make my oily nose and chin feel any more oily and it helps keep blemishes at bay… what more could I ask for?!

Overall I love Trilogy Certified Organic Rosehip Oil and I will continue to use it on my face before I go to bed to help keep my skin moisturised and clear from blemishes. It would make a great treatment or massage oil too as part of a facial and I have also used it as a cuticle oil to help keep my nails looking their best.

I have been using the small 20ml bottle size and this will last me for months just using 4 drops a day, but it is also available in a larger 45ml bottle. I love the no-fuss packaging – the dark glass bottle with its dropper lid – I think it looks quite clinical but dependable.

UPDATE 13/01/2017 – since using Trilogy Rosehip Oil I now always use an oil to moisturise my skin before bed. It really suits my combination skin and my acne has been much improved since using it. I have tried different brands, but Trilogy is definitely one of my favourites.

Trilogy Certified Organic Rosehip Oil starts at £19.50 for 20ml.

Trilogy have produced a blog post where you can find out more about Rosehip Oil.

  1. Hi there,

thanks for the review, i have recently got a 20ml bottle here in Melbourne and was wondering a couple of things:

1 – Do you know if the oil would help with acne marks and hyper-pigmentation?

    and (this may sound silly)

2 – How do you store the oil and what is its shelf life? will probably run out of before its expiry date anyway :p

Thank you very much for you help 🙂 love the site and all the great reviews! Keep it up 🙂

    • Hi, I’m not sure about the hyper-pigmentation but this Rosehip Oil does get good reports when it comes to acne scars – although it’s not a quick fix and you might need to use it for a while before you start to see any results.
I expect it will last for around a year, as long as you store it in a cool dark place – I keep mine in the bathroom cupboard. xx
