The Body Shop Summer Blogger Event

A couple of weeks ago I was lucky enough to be invited to The Body Shop Summer Blog Event at my local store in Coppergate, York. This was the second The Body Shop blogger event I have been to and I have to say that they’re so enjoyable and really well planned. This event had been organised to showcase some of the new products that The Body Shop have launched for Summer – mainly the Drops of Light skincare range and the tropical new Pinita Colada range of bodycare.

The Body Shop Gift Sets

Sadly my photos from the event are really lacking as my camera battery is faulty and despite charging it up before I went it went flat just fifteen minutes into the evening – so many apologies!

Firstly, after enjoying a glass of fizz, we watched a facial demonstration using the new Drops of Light skincare range, the main active ingredients being Vitamin C and red algae. There are four products – Cleansing Foam, Essence Lotion, Day Cream and Serum – and the aim is to reduce the number and intensity of dark spots and uneven pigmentation on the face making the skin appear luminous.

I was then treated to a hand treatment using the new Summery Pinita Colada bodycare range. This hadn’t actually been officially launched when I attended the event but we were allowed a special sneak peak before the general public got to see it! A delicious combo of pineapple and coconut it smells just like a day on the beach – think sand, gentle waves and cocktails! My hands and wrists had a gentle scrub using the Pinita Colada Body Scrub (this even contains tiny fibres of real coconut) and then a wonderful massage using the Body Butter.

We then had time to browse the make-up and I had my lipstick applied by one of the customer assistants (sorry, I can’t remember your name but you were amazing!). I wanted to try something orangey for a change (I normally go straight for pink lipsticks) and it was good that I could see what it looked like before buying one. I went for the Colour Crush lipstick in shade 315.

The Body Shop Lipstick

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, The Body Shop always has such great gift sets available and they work out as such good value. I also really like their make-up range – it’s probably not the first brand you think of when it comes to make-up, but they’re working hard to get their products noticed and they’re not too expensive either.

The Body Shop Seaweed

It was also really interesting to see the new packaging that The Body Shop is rolling out throughout its stores (see image above).

The Body Shop Goody Bag

All the bloggers left the event with a goody bag of product samples. I thought it was a shame that we didn’t get samples of the new products that were being promoted, however on second thoughts I suppose we’d already had chance to try these out at the event so the store wanted us to be able to try out some different products. One of my samples was the British Rose Body Butter which I absolutely love.

So a huge thank you to the staff at The Body Shop, Coppergate, York! It was great to find out about the new Summer products and hook up with old blogger friends again.

Why not check out the new Drops of Light collection and Pinita Colada bodycare?
