Neal’s Yard Remedies – Mothers Bath Oil

Neal’s Yard Remedies – Mothers Bath Oil

Well here I am, back at my blog! I had a lovely break over Christmas and New Year and it was made all the more special by it being my baby girl’s first Christmas. But as ever the festive period whizzed by far too fast and we’re now well into the first week in January. For me January is about pampering and detoxing, and thinking about all the possibilities that the year ahead has in store. If pampering’s your thing too then look no further than Mothers Bath Oil from Neal’s Yard Remedies. I was given this by a friend after I gave birth to my daughter last September and it’s become a staple in my bathroom. Made from only organic ingredients it can safely be used during pregnancy, after the birth and then as your child gets older when you feel a bit ‘frazzled’! Of course you don’t have to be a mother to use it, everyone needs relaxation! The main ingredients are organic Olive, Apricot and Almond...

NEOM – Tranquillity Room Spray

NEOM – Tranquillity Room Spray

I was given this Neom Tranquillity Room Spray by my best friend for my birthday, I’d previously smelled it at her house and loved it. Plus my Pilates instructor burns Neom candles and they always make me feel really relaxed. Neom is a natural and ethical home fragrance brand, it’s cruelty free and uses many organic ingredients. Their products include candles, room fragrances, reed diffusers plus a range of wonderfully scented bath and body products. Tranquillity is Neom’s sleep range, the fragrance is made up using 12 quality essential oils all known for their ability to induce a sense of relaxation and encourage sleep, these oils include English Lavender, Sweet Basil and Jasmine. Neom describe the scent as ‘the purple splendour of a neatly lined lavender field on a glorious English summer’s day’, and I agree it really is all about the lavender although there is a fresh herby undertone there too. The product is described as a Room Spray, although it can be used as a pillow mist or a linen...

Elemis – Quiet Mind Temple Balm

Elemis – Quiet Mind Temple Balm

Quiet Mind Temple Balm is part of Elemis’ new Sp@ Home collection, I’ve already reviewed the Treat Your Feet Foot Cream from that range. This was given to me at Christmas from a good friend who knows that I often have trouble getting off to sleep and this product aims to help promote harmony, tranquillity and relaxation via a blend of natural essential oils. It’s not really a balm at all, more of a clear serum, and the first thing I noticed is that the fragrance is extremely strong. However the initial overpowering scent soon calms down to leave a gentle, soothing fragrance. It also has a slight menthol touch to it which feels cooling on the skin. Quiet Mind Temple Balm is supposed to be applied to the temples, ear lobes and back of the neck, however I’ve been just rubbing a little onto my wrist as I didn’t want it TOO near my nose! Applied just before bed it really does help me to feel relaxed and...

L’Occitane – Relaxing Pillow Mist

L’Occitane – Relaxing Pillow Mist

I’ve always had trouble getting off to sleep ever since I was a little girl and I’ve tried loads of things that claim they’ll help. I particularly love the scent of lavender and I was lucky enough to receive this Relaxing Pillow Mist by L’Occitane from a relative for Christmas. As well as lavender the Relaxing Pillow Mist also contains essential oils of bergamot, mandarin, sweet orange and geranium, although the overriding scent that comes through is lavender. I’ve been spritzing it on my pillow at night before bed – just a couple of light sprays. The scent is fairly light and smells quite natural, not like the sweetened lavender scent you sometimes get with hand creams and bubble baths. I really like the fragrance and it definitely helps me to feel more relaxed but as to whether it helps me get off to sleep, well the jury’s still out on that one. I love the traditional style bottle and label, it looks just like something you’d find on...

Badger Sleep Balm

Badger Sleep Balm

I’ve always had trouble getting off to sleep at night and have recently been using Badger Sleep Balm to try and help me relax at bedtime. This cute little tin contains a soft balm with a blend of essential oils that helps quiet your thoughts and clear your mind. The two main ingredients are Lavender and Bergamot oils, and all the ingredients are certified organic. I have been a rubbing a little of the Badger Sleep Balm on my temples and wrists when I turn off the light at bedtime to help me to switch off my mind and relax. The scent of the balm is lovely and soothing, you can smell the lavender but it’s not overpowering. I’ve only been using this product for a couple of weeks so far. I’m not sure if it has helped me get to sleep any faster but it definitely makes me feel relaxed and soothed. Overall a great little product and great value. Badger Sleep Balm starts at around £3.99 for...
