Another quick DIY craft post today to show you a cheap and easy way to make pictures for your walls using old birthday cards and postcards. I always keep really nice cards and other pictures in a plastic wallet, then every now and then I’ll go through it and pick one or two out to make into pictures. I’ve chosen a Winnie-The-Pooh card as I love him and the colours will go nicely in the spare room that we’ve just decorated. I’ve also chosen a girly card about shoes and handbags, this one is going to go next to my dressing table in the bedroom. I’ve used glass clip frames that measure 7×5 inches, but they’re available in loads of sizes going right up to poster size. The great thing about these clip frames is that you can easily take them apart and change the picture if you get bored of it. You can use them for photos too, how about using a big one and creating a collage?...

Beauty Best Friend gets crafty!

Something a bit different for you today…. I’ve always loved crafts and ever since I was a little girl I’ve been making jewellery, toys, accessories and home decor items. So I wanted to share this picture that I made last week to remind me of a recent family trip to Norfolk. Whilst we were away on our long weekend we took the steam train on the North Norfolk railway from Sheringham to Holt which is a lovely little market town with loads of independent gift boutiques and cafes. I just loved the traditional style of the train tickets, they reminded me of when I was a little girl and my dad used to take me on steam trains! They’re so much nicer than the flimsy printed tickets you get on trains nowadays (that makes me sound really old doesn’t it!). So I decided to make the tickets into a little memento of our trip…. I found the frame in a charity shop for 50p, it was a dark wood...
