The hunt for the perfect pink lipstick #5

The hunt for the perfect pink lipstick #5

Welcome to the fifth episode of ‘The hunt for the perfect pink lipstick’! I am on the hunt… the hunt for the perfect pink lipstick that is ‘MLBB’ or ‘my lips but better’. You know, the sort of colour that looks from a distance like you’re not wearing lipstick, like you just have naturally pink, plump perfect lips. The sort of colour you can just slick on from the tube and doesn’t need painstaking application with liner and lipbrush. The sort of colour that looks like ‘my lips, but better’. Did you know that the average woman ingests 2.4 kilos of lipstick in her lifetime? Ewwww! Some lipsticks contain small amounts of lead which is poisonous, and other chemicals, so today I am reviewing Living Nature lipstick in Precious* that contains only 100% natural ingredients. Living Nature is a New Zealand beauty brand that uses only 100% natural ingredients, preservatives and fragrances in all of its products. This is the fifth lipstick that I have tested as part of...

The hunt for the perfect pink lipstick #4

The hunt for the perfect pink lipstick #4

Welcome to the fourth episode of ‘The hunt for the perfect pink lipstick’! This is the third lipstick that I have tested as part of my hunt – Joli Rouge lipstick in Petal Pink* from Clarins. I am a big user of Clarins skincare products, but I am ashamed to say that this is the first Clarins make-up item I have tried. Petal Pink looks quite a dark pink colour in the tube but the Joli Rouge lipsticks are creamy and sheer with a supple texture so it doesn’t translate as dark...

The hunt for the perfect pink lipstick #2

The hunt for the perfect pink lipstick #2

I am on the hunt… the hunt for the perfect pink lipstick that is ‘MLBB’ or ‘my lips but better’. You know, the sort of colour that looks from a distance like you’re not wearing lipstick, like you just have naturally pink, plump perfect lips. The sort of colour you can just slick on from the tube and doesn’t need painstaking application with liner and lipbrush. The sort of colour that looks like ‘my lips, but better’. This is the second lipstick that I have tested during my hunt, MUA Makeup Academy Lipstick in ‘Shade 5’.  This is a very pale shimmery pink colour, remarkable in the fact that it costs £1…. yes, you read that correctly, it costs just £1! I didn’t have very high hopes for this lipstick given it’s low price but I was very pleasantly surprised. Shade 5 is surprisingly creamy, applies really nicely from the tube and has a lovely vanilla scent – it certainly doesn’t feel like a budget product. It does have a lot...

The hunt for the perfect pink lipstick #1

The hunt for the perfect pink lipstick #1

I am on the hunt… the hunt for the perfect pink lipstick that is ‘MLBB’ or ‘my lips but better’. You know, the sort of colour that looks from a distance like you’re not wearing lipstick, like you just have naturally pink, plump perfect lips. The sort of colour you can just slick on from the tube and doesn’t need painstaking application with liner and lipbrush. The sort of colour that looks like ‘my lips, but better’. So today I am trying out Mac Cremesheen Lipstick in ‘Pink Pearl Pop’. Firstly, a little about Mac’s Cremesheen Lipsticks – they are part of Mac’s regular lipstick range, but are softer and creamier giving a more glossy finish. Mac’s Cremesheen Lipsticks are currently available in 29 colours, I chose ‘Pink Pearl Pop’ – a bright sugary pink with a very slight shimmer (which you can only see if you look closely). The coverage is fairly sheer after one thin coat, but if you layer it on it starts to look very...
