Maybelline – Brow Drama in Dark Brown

Maybelline – Brow Drama in Dark Brown

Despite having blonde hair I do like to keep my eyebrows fairly dark, and my eyebrow product of choice is usually Chanel’s Sculpting Eyebrow Pencil in Noir Cendre (you can read my review of that product here). I like to use a pencil as it’s easy to control and you can either rub it lightly on the hairs for a subtle colour or use more pressure and actually draw the colour onto the skin. So when I saw this new product from Maybelline which is actually a mascara for the eyebrows I was intrigued as to whether it would be better than a pencil or not. The Maybelline Brow Drama looks just like any normal mascara, except that the brush has a large bulbous end which you use to brush through the eyebrow hairs and deposit the mascara onto them. The brush is very stiff and spiky too, and I did find it quite difficult to just apply the product to the hairs and not smudge it all around...

Glossybox – December 2013

Glossybox – December 2013

December’s Glossybox came in a beautiful Christmas-themed red box (I will be re-using this for make-up storage) and the theme of the box was ‘Festive Treasures’. When I opened my box there was a problem with the Seche Nail Lacquer inside so I had to contact Glossybox customer service to arrange for a replacement to be sent out. I have read bad reviews about the way that Glossybox deal with problems, however I have to say that the service I received was first class, and I must say a big thank you to Kayleigh for arranging to send out a replacement so quickly. Apologies for...

Maybelline – Color Show Polka Dots

Maybelline – Color Show Polka Dots

There are so many special effects nail varnishes about at the moment that I’ve started to not notice them quite as much, but this funky speckled varnish caught my eye in Superdrug on Tuesday – Maybelline isn’t a brand I normally look at, but I’m so glad I did! I’ve got a bit bored of having to match a glitter polish with a complimentary shiny ‘gelly’ colour varnish, but these new Polka Dots nail paints from Maybelline do that all for you! The range is available in 4 colours, I chose ‘Speckled Pink’ as it was the brightest (the other three colours are a black, a turquoise and a dark blue). The background colour is a shiny ‘gel-like’ fuchsia pink colour and suspended inside are flecks of black and white matt-coloured ‘glitter’ pieces in various sizes. I use the word ‘glitter’ in inverted commas as the flecks aren’t sparkly, so I’m not sure if they can really be called glitter, but they give a great effect and stand out well against...
