KOREAN BEAUTY May Coop – Raw Sauce

KOREAN BEAUTY May Coop – Raw Sauce

This is my last Korean beauty special for a little while, I have been writing these as part of an initiative working with BNT News International, a global beauty/fashion/lifestyle and entertainment source based in Seoul, South Korea. I am helping BNT to promote a selection of new and exciting Korean beauty products to a UK audience, these are products that you probably won’t have seen before and some of them are really different and unique. The product that I am reviewing today is Raw Sauce* from May Coop. I think that ‘Raw Sauce’ is a very strange name for a beauty product, however being a Korean brand May Coop will possibly have translated this into English from Korean. Plus, once you know a bit more about the ingredients the name makes a bit more sense… Raw Sauce is a cross between a toner and a serum that you apply after cleansing and before moisturising. The main ingredient is Maple Tree Sap – apparently the molecules are smaller than water molecules and absorb...

My Little Box – May 2015

My Little Box – May 2015

The April ‘My Little Dreambox’ was simply stunning (I reviewed it here) and so I was really looking forward to seeing what May would bring. The theme was ‘My Little Provence Box’ which I thought was a bit of a strange choice, but it all made more sense once I opened it up – think long Summer days and relaxing in floral fields. If you’ve never heard of My Little Box it’s a quirky monthly beauty box that offers something a bit different, including their own range of make-up ‘My Little Beauty’, a proper readable mini magazine in each box, plus exciting little non-beauty extras – past examples have included jewellery, stationery and T-shirts. So, what was inside My Little Provence Box in May….? All but one of the beauty products inside May’s box were miniature samples from L’Occitane, and I think this was where the Provence theme came from as the French region is where L’Occitane originated in 1976. They’re great little samples, although I do already have a couple...

Jelly Pong Pong – Fairy Lashes Mascara

Jelly Pong Pong – Fairy Lashes Mascara

This Fairy Lashes Mascara from Jelly Pong Pong was nestled inside my May Glossybox. I had heard of Jelly Pong Pong before but had never tried any of their products, and I just loved the design on the box so I was very excited to try this. The Jelly Pong Pong philosophy is all about ‘creating products which evoke the dreamer in you’ and I guess this is why they named this mascara ‘Fairy Lashes’. Jelly Pong Pong’s packaging is really pretty with boxes displaying flower illustrations and flowing fonts, but this feel doesn’t necessarily follow through to the products themselves – the mascara tube is a plain purple and rather boring when compared with the pretty box. Fairy Lashes water-resistant mascara was developed to make ‘eyelashes thicker & curvier while allowing them to be spectacularly soft & light’ and I did find that it applied really nicely. The brush is smallish and very easy to use, and it gives a fairly even application of mascara with no...

Glossybox – May 2013

Glossybox – May 2013

My May Glossybox has arrived! I must be one of the last people on their monthly list as we are already well into June, but better late then never. I am really pleased with this one, there are 6 items and a good mix of make-up and skincare products. For those of you who don’t know about Glossybox it is a monthly subscription-based make-up and skincare box. Each box costs £10 plus P&P and contains around 6 goodies (some full-size products and some sample sizes), the retail prices of which add up to way more than the £10 you pay for it. It is a way for consumers to try out new products and for brands to get their products known, and there is usually a good mix of well-known brands and some less-well-known or new brands in each box. May 2013 marks Glossybox’s 2nd birthday and this is their anniversary box. The packaging is really lovely and it feels quite special opening the pink box, untying the ribbon and peeling back...
