Glossybox – June 2013

Glossybox – June 2013

My June Glossybox is here! The theme of this one is ‘Summer Looks’ and it is quite make-up focused with some good full-sized products. I really do get excited when I am opening my Glossybox, I love taking off the lid, untying the ribbon and peeling back the tissue paper to find out what is nestled inside! The first item is a full-sized 25ml John Frieda Frizz-Ease Original Hair Serum which retails at £6.29. I use this product all the time to tame my frizzy hair, so whilst it’s not particulary new and exciting it is well received! The second product is a full-sized Eye Inspire Mono Eyeshadow in Mirage from affordable boutique make-up brand Me Me Me, which retails at £4.99. It is a lovely shimmery coffee brown colour and I think this will work really nicely as an accent colour on the eyes. Dior Addict – Lip Glow Color Reviver Balm

Dior Addict – Lip Glow Color Reviver Balm

Today I am reviewing Dior Addict Lip Glow Color Reviver Balm, a great little product which is rather pricey but, in my opinion, worth every penny. The pale pink balm looks pretty much clear when you apply it to your lips, but after 30 seconds it starts to turn a lovely natural pink colour, making your lips look full and radiant. It has a sweet vanilla taste and also gives SPF10 protection from the sun. The images below show how my lips looked before apply the Dior Addict Lip Glow, what they looked like 30 seconds after applying it and what they looked like 2 minutes after applying it. I have to say that my images don’t really do...

NYC – Appleicious Glossy Lip Balms

NYC – Appleicious Glossy Lip Balms

I have just discovered these Applelicious Glossy Lip Balms from budget beauty brand NYC (New York Color). They are great value and give just a hint of colour making them perfect for those ‘no make-up days’. I went for Pink Lady which is a bright pink colour and Blushing Golden which is a pale creamy beige colour. The moisturising lip balm is the apple-shaped centre section, while the outer portion gives the creamy hint of colour. They have a pleasant, if somewhat chemical-ly, apple scent. The packaging is ok for a budget beauty brand and fairly sturdy. You can see from the swatch on my arm that the colours are extremely sheer, the pink one is my favourite as it is really nice and creamy. The creamy beige one is a little too frosted and shimmery for my liking and shows up any dry skin or creases on the lips, so be sure to exfoliate and moisturise your lips before wearing it (kind of defeats the point of wearing a lip...
