Rimmel London – 60 Seconds Nail Polish Lucky Lilac

Rimmel London – 60 Seconds Nail Polish Lucky Lilac

Lucky Lilac (670) is part of Rimmel’s 60 Seconds fast-drying nail polish collection, it’s a bright pinky-fuchsia shade that’s perfect for Summer. It looks quite glossy when it’s first dried but after a day or two it starts to look a bit duller, although you could add a coat or two of clear top coat for a glossy finish. I really like this bright shade, although I do think purple nails could be considered a bit old-fashioned these days now there are so many other unusual colours available. The nail polish brush is nice and wide, a bit like you get with an Essie polish, so you can quickly apply the colour to each nail with only 2 or 3 strokes. It lives up to its 60 Seconds name too and dries fairly quickly, I applied two coats of Lucky Lilac just before I got in the car and after driving for about five minutes it had completely dried. The colour is quite opaque, 2 coats is adequate to completely cover each nail,...

Purple French Mani

Purple French Mani

I’ve not posted many nail art designs recently, so I wanted to share this Purple French Manicure look I created for New Year’s Eve. Both of the polishes are from Seche, the lilac one is ‘Not Easily  Swept Away’ and the dark purple, almost black, shade is ‘Empress’. I simply painted the lilac Not Easily Swept Away shade all over each nail and followed with another coat, then left it to dry for a few minutes. After the paler Seche colour had dried I carefully painted the tips of my nails using the dark Empress shade. I find it easiest to paint nail tips freehand, I place my fingertip on a flat surface then I gently place the nail polish brush at one side of my nail tip and rotate the nail tip rather than moving the brush. If one or two of the tips are a bit messy I just go over them again once they are dry. You can also get little stickers that make it easier...

Paul & Joe – Floral Make-Up Bag

Paul & Joe – Floral Make-Up Bag

This Floral Make-up Bag from Paul & Joe truly is a thing of beauty! I first saw it reviewed on one of my favourite blogs, Girl With MakeUp, and I had to have one! It’s so pretty with an aqua and lilac floral fabric and the Paul & Joe logo is printed on the front. “What’s so special about it?” I hear you ask. Well, apart from being really pretty it has lots of useful pockets and compartments to help keep make-up and toiletries well organised, and the really clever part about it is that it works a little bit like a Filofax with 2 removable pouches that attach to metal rings, a bit like a ring binder. The image above clearly shows the 2 removable pouches – one is a clear mesh so you can see what is inside it, the other matches the outside of the make-up bag in the cute aqua and lilac floral fabric. Not only does this beautiful bag house the 2 removable pouches,...
