John Frieda – Full Repair Hydrate & Rescue Shampoo & Conditioner

John Frieda – Full Repair Hydrate & Rescue Shampoo & Conditioner

I wouldn’t describe my hair as damaged, but it is coloured and the ends get very dry and flyaway, so anything that promises to hydrate and rescue hair is welcome! I was recently asked to try out this duo from John Frieda’s Full Repair range – Hydrate & Rescue Shampoo* and Conditioner* and have been using them for just over a week. The Full Repair range promises to ‘reverse damage with every use’ and I wasn’t sure what to expect from these products, as I know it’s not possible to actually repair damage to hair such as split ends, etc, so I was looking forward to seeing what benefits this John Frieda shampoo and condtioner brought. Both products have a hydrating formula, and the ingredients include Inca Inchi Oil which is rich in omega-3, this helps to rescue hair from the look and feel of damage as it nourishes. The Full Repair range is safe for chemically treated or coloured hair. Both the Full Repair shampoo and conditioner are...

John Frieda – Luxurious Volume Blow Dry Lotion & Blow-Out Spray

John Frieda – Luxurious Volume Blow Dry Lotion & Blow-Out Spray

I was recently asked to try out Blow Dry Lotion* and Blow-Out Spray* from John Frieda’s Luxurious Volume range. I do have quite thick hair, but I find it difficult to get much volume into it as I usually straighten it and this can make it go a bit limp, so I was hoping for great things from these products. Fine to Full Blow-Out Spray aims to create natural volume by plumping fine hair from the root to the tip. You just spray a fine mist of the product throughout towel-dried hair, then blow dry as usual. Blow Dry Lotion Root Booster helps create the perfect lift at the crown of the head by boosting volume at the roots. This product should also be sprayed onto towel-dried hair, but you should concentrate on applying it at the roots only for crown volume, and then blow dry as usual. When trying out these hair volume products I applied them both to my freshly washed then towel-dried hair. I did find...

John Frieda – Frizz-Ease Hair Serum

John Frieda – Frizz-Ease Hair Serum

Frizz-Ease Hair Serum from John Frieda is my most-used styling product, and unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past 10 years you can’t fail to have heard of it. This silky serum can be used on straight or curly hair and has been formulated to eliminate ‘dry, moderate frizz’ for glossy silky-smooth styles. I have fairly thick, wavy blonde hair which can either be straightened poker-straight or scrunched to give spiral curls. Unfortunately whichever style I go for I always suffer from the dreaded frizz – made worse by damp or humid weather – so using a serum is a must for me. After washing and towel drying my hair I pump a hazelnut-sized blob of Frizz-Ease Hair Serum into my hands and then distribute it evenly through my hair, avoiding the roots. I can then either blow dry and straighten my hair, or just leave it to dry curly and natural (something which I always do when on holiday in a hot country). Once dry...

Glossybox – June 2013

Glossybox – June 2013

My June Glossybox is here! The theme of this one is ‘Summer Looks’ and it is quite make-up focused with some good full-sized products. I really do get excited when I am opening my Glossybox, I love taking off the lid, untying the ribbon and peeling back the tissue paper to find out what is nestled inside! The first item is a full-sized 25ml John Frieda Frizz-Ease Original Hair Serum which retails at £6.29. I use this product all the time to tame my frizzy hair, so whilst it’s not particulary new and exciting it is well received! The second product is a full-sized Eye Inspire Mono Eyeshadow in Mirage from affordable boutique make-up brand Me Me Me, which retails at £4.99. It is a lovely shimmery coffee brown colour and I think this will work really nicely as an accent colour on the eyes. The third product is another full-sized make-up product, a Waterproof Protective Lip Liner pencil in shade 4 from Helen E priced at £8. I have tried Helen...
