Beauty Best Friend gets crafty!

Something a bit different for you today…. I’ve always loved crafts and ever since I was a little girl I’ve been making jewellery, toys, accessories and home decor items. So I wanted to share this picture that I made last week to remind me of a recent family trip to Norfolk. Whilst we were away on our long weekend we took the steam train on the North Norfolk railway from Sheringham to Holt which is a lovely little market town with loads of independent gift boutiques and cafes. I just loved the traditional style of the train tickets, they reminded me of when I was a little girl and my dad used to take me on steam trains! They’re so much nicer than the flimsy printed tickets you get on trains nowadays (that makes me sound really old doesn’t it!). So I decided to make the tickets into a little memento of our trip…. I found the frame in a charity shop for 50p, it was a dark wood...

Handmade Christmas Gift Tags

Handmade Christmas Gift Tags

I just thought I would share the Christmas gift tags that I handmade earlier this week. The wrapping paper I will be using this year is red and white, from Paperchase, so I wanted tags that would match the colour scheme. I bought the blank cream tags at the Country Baskets store in Leeds, then found all the rest of the items in my craft stash! I found the little reindeer image on the internet and printed those and the ‘Happy Christmas’ wording using the PC and a basic colour inkjet printer. The ornate silver and white patterned paper was left over from when I made our wedding invitations a few years ago. And I’ve had the little red metal roses for quite a while but they’re a bit too bulky and spiky to go on cards. I have cut some lengths of white ribbon to use to tie the Christmas gift tags onto the presents. I think they’re going to look great! If you enjoyed reading this blog...
