Crabtree & Evelyn – Citron Moisturising Hand Therapy

Crabtree & Evelyn – Citron Moisturising Hand Therapy

Just a really quick review today of Citron Moisturising Hand Therapy from Crabtree & Evelyn. Last Spring I attended a Garden Celebration blogger event at my local Crabtree & Evelyn store in York. I was pleasantly surprised with their products and have since tried out a few, including this rich hand cream. Crabtree & Evelyn Moisturising Hand Therapy is free of parabens, lauryl sulfates, mineral oil, and propylene glycol and it improves the skin’s barrier function to help reduce moisture loss. Fragranced with vibrant lemon, fresh coriander and a touch of sweet honey it has a fresh Spring-like scent. I’ve been using this for a couple of months now and it’s perfect to protect the hands during cold weather. It’s amazing on cuticles too – just massage a tiny smudge into the nails after a manicure. Crabtree & Evelyn’s Citron fragrance is also available in loads of other products too, including body mist, soap and shower gel. I’ve also tried the Citron Hand Wash at a friend’s house and I couldn’t...

Christmas treats from Roger & Gallet

Christmas treats from Roger & Gallet

Well, it’s December so we’re officially allowed to think about Christmas! And when we think about Christmas we have to talk about one of the brands that does gifts so well – Roger & Gallet. I’ve reviewed several of their products in the past, in particular their fragrances and hand creams, and they all make perfect gifts as their packaging is so beautiful. Today I’m reviewing two items from the Bois d’Orange fragrance collection: Bois d’Orange Eau Fraiche Parfumee* – I’d expected this Fragrant Water to smell really fruity and orangey but it doesn’t. The scent is supposed to encompass the leaves, flowers and wood of the orange tree as well as the fruit, so it’s more woody and musky than just an orange fragrance. I think it smells quite classic and traditional. The scent is quite light as this is a fragrant water rather than a perfume, and it’s unisex so suitable for both men and women. The smooth glass bottle with its yellow and gold label doesn’t...

Sweet treats from Patisserie De Bain

Sweet treats from Patisserie De Bain

How tempting does this selection of sweet treats from Patisserie de Bain look!? Patisserie de Bain (translated from French as ‘confectionery for the bath’) is a new brand from Rose & Co – a traditional British apothecary in the Yorkshire village of Haworth. Each piece is lovingly handmade in the UK from ingredients such as shea butter and almond oil and finished off with traditional English floral fragrances. I was lucky enough to receive this hamper full of pretty Patisserie de Bain bath goodies* to try out, plus a selection of scented handcreams which I’ll talk about later in the post. The first thing to strike me was the packaging, the pale pastel colours and doily decorations really make the products look like something you’d find in a sweet shop. Plus the products themselves look good enough to eat! Particularly this Cranberries & Cream Cupcake Soap, I think it looks like a real cake and with a warm berry fragrance it’s perfect for Winter. Actually this might be too pretty to...

eBay Owl/Fox Handbag

eBay Owl/Fox Handbag

I just couldn’t resist sharing this cute handbag that I purchased from eBay recently! I’m not quite sure if it’s supposed to be an owl or a fox, but both are currently in fashion and I just think it’s so cute! The press stud on it’s little nose unfastens to open up the bag, and whilst there are no separate pockets inside it’s quite a decent size to fit your everyday essentials in. The strap is quite a good length, and it’s adjustable too using buckles so you could wear it across the body or over one shoulder. It looks a bit like leather although I think it’s probably made from plastic given the cheap price! But it’s good value, and it comes in 6 different colours. I went for the orange as I think that’s the most fox-like colour, but I think the brown looks good too. I’ve already had lots of positive comments when I’ve been using my fox/owl bag, it’s the perfect size to use when meeting...

Roger & Gallet – Christmas Bodycare Selection

Roger & Gallet – Christmas Bodycare Selection

I love Roger & Gallet, their products look so pretty and traditional but with a modern edge, and they have a great range of gifts. Today I am looking at some of their new Christmas bodycare goodies. The Roger & Gallet range of Sorbet Body Lotions would look simply beautiful all lined up next to one another in their pretty pastel colours. I have been trying out the Citron (Cedrat) Sorbet Body Lotion* which comes in a pastel yellow pump bottle. It has a strong scent with overriding notes of citrus and mint, but I can also easily smell the more woody fragrances of cedar and white amber. The product itself is a white lotion, it’s fairly light and sinks in quickly leaving a lovely sheen on the surface of the skin. The scent is a little overpowering for me, I wouldn’t be able to apply a lot of it at once or I would feel overwhelmed, but it really is beautiful. The other fragrances in the Sorbet Body...

The Body Shop – Frosted Cranberry Body Butter & Glazed Apple Hand Cream

The Body Shop – Frosted Cranberry Body Butter & Glazed Apple Hand Cream

I’ve got another duo from The Body Shop® festive ‘Sweet Treat’ bodycare range for you today – Frosted Cranberry Body Butter* and Glazed Apple Hand Cream*. Both of these festive lovelies would make a great stocking filler this Christmas (or you could just keep them for yourself!). Frosted Cranberry Body Butter – In my opinion The Body Shop® do the best body butters! You can get cheaper ones elsewhere but they’re not always as rich and moisturising as the ones from The Body Shop®. My personal favourite is the Shea Body Butter, but I also love the coconut and pink grapefruit varieties (you can read my previous review of The Body Shop Coconut Body Butter here). Frosted Cranberry is one of the new Christmas 2014 scents from The Body Shop® and it’s available in several different products, including this body butter. The scent is both sweet and sharp at the same time, and reminds me of something from my childhood although I’m not sure what! This Frosted Cranberry Body...

Radox – Uplifting Pink Grapefruit & Basil Handwash

Radox – Uplifting Pink Grapefruit & Basil Handwash

Just a quick review for you today of Radox Uplifting Pink Grapefruit & Basil Handwash. I picked this up from the supermarket recently, to keep on the side of the sink in our bathroom. Pink grapefruit is one of my favourite scents (check out my reviews of Burt’s Bees Lip Balm with Pink Grapefruit and The Body Shop Pink Grapefruit Eau de Toilette if you like the scent too!). The product itself is a transparent pinky coloured gel, it looks a really pretty colour in the bottle. The handwash lathers up really quickly but has quite a spicy fragrance rather than the usual sweet citrussy scent that I was expecting. I couldn’t pick out the basil in the fragrance either. This Radox handwash is pleasant but I have to say it’s not my favourite pink grapefruit beauty product that I’ve tried. Plus it contains sodium laureth sulfate – the ingredient which makes most soaping products lather – which can be quite harsh and I usually try to avoid it....

Cosmic Beauty – Facial Sheet Masks

Cosmic Beauty – Facial Sheet Masks

I was recently contacted by Cosmic Beauty who are a UK provider of South East Asian beauty products – mainly facial sheet masks. They sell their products via Amazon and Facebook, and they sent me a selection of sheet masks to try. The masks included several for the face, plus an eye mask and a couple for the hands and feet – I didn’t even realise you could get sheet masks for hands and feet! As I’ve tried quite a few of these masks I’m only going to talk in detail today about 2 of them, otherwise the post would be extremely long! Face Q is a range of facial sheet masks from Taiwan. If you haven’t tried a facial sheet mask before, it is a thin cottony sheet soaked in a liquid product that you place over your face and leave for a while (just like you would do a regular cream mask). It has holes for the eyes, nose and mouth so you can still see and...
