Make a difference with Body Butter from The Body Shop

Make a difference with Body Butter from The Body Shop

Did you know….. that The Body Shop® launched their iconic Body Butters 24 years ago with just three flavours? For almost a quarter of a century now, people have been moisturising with Body Butter, and there are now 17 fragrances to choose from. I remember discovering the Shea Body Butter when I was a teenager (I’m showing my age now!) and being really impressed with how soft and smooth my legs felt after applying it before a night out. And despite trying many other body moisturising products along the years I’ve regularly come back to the sheer richness of The Body Shop® Body Butters. Body Butters also contain natural ingredients that have been sourced through The Body Shop® unique Community Trade Programme, so each purchase helps to change the lives of communities around the world. For example, sourcing Shea Butter from Ghana has helped fund water pipes and wells, and the Argan Oil comes from co-operatives in Morocco providing their women with a fair and regular income enabling them...

KOREAN BEAUTY Lamy – Real Rice Paper Eating Mask Pack

KOREAN BEAUTY Lamy – Real Rice Paper Eating Mask Pack

I am currently taking part in an initiative working with BNT News International, a global beauty/fashion/lifestyle and entertainment source based in Seoul, South Korea. I am helping BNT to promote a selection of new and exciting Korean beauty products to a UK audience, these are products that you probably won’t have seen before and some of them are really different and unique. You may have already seen some of my previous Korean beauty reviews, such as this post about 3CE Long Wear Eye Crayon. Today I am reviewing Real 97% Rice Paper Eating Mask Pack from Lamy. These are anti-aging sheet face masks where the actual sheet is made from food-grade rice paper. I think the word ‘Eating’ in the title is a bit misleading – you’re not actually going to eat your face mask! But it does suggest that the mask is natural and made from ingredients that would be safe to eat. I was sent three varieties of Mask Pack to try out – Green Tea, Turmeric...

KOREAN BEAUTY I-MIIX – Magic Capsule Silky Make Up Base

KOREAN BEAUTY I-MIIX – Magic Capsule Silky Make Up Base

I am currently taking part in an initiative working with BNT News International, a global beauty/fashion/lifestyle and entertainment source based in Seoul, South Korea. I am helping BNT to promote a selection of new and exciting Korean beauty products to a UK audience, these are products that you probably won’t have seen before and some of them are really different and unique. You may have already seen some of my previous Korean beauty reviews, such as this post about Artclass by Rodin contour palette from Too Cool For School. I’ve got another Korean make-up review for you today, this is Magic Capsule Silky Make Up Base from i-MIIX, it’s a colour correcting primer that you apply underneath your foundation to help even out skintone. Available in five different colours I was sent the green one which promises to tone down any red or pink undertones in the skin. I get quite rosy cheeks, particularly in cold weather, so this was the ideal choice for me. The other product colours...

GIVEAWAY – Pink&Green Organic Facial Cleansing Oil

GIVEAWAY – Pink&Green Organic Facial Cleansing Oil

THE GIVEAWAY HAS NOW ENDED. A couple of weeks ago I reviewed the October Blogger Beauty Box and included inside it was a small bottle of Pink&Green Organic Facial Cleansing Oil. It was my favourite item from the box, and following my review Carol Aplin, founder of Pink&Green, got in touch to thank me and to offer a full size 10ml bottle of Organic Facial Cleansing Oil and muslin cloth as a giveaway for one of my readers. This is a fab skincare product that won the ‘Best Facial Cleanser’ prize in the Janey Loves Platinum Awards 2015 competition for natural and organic skincare products. It’s 100% organic made from peach kernel, sweet orange, and lavender essential oils and it smells gently floral. Whilst a 10ml bottle might not sound very much you actually only need around 3 drops to cleanse the whole face, so if you cleanse twice a day, morning and night, it should last for 6 weeks. After applying the 3 drops to the fingertips the...

Something a bit different from JORD Wood Watches

Something a bit different from JORD Wood Watches

Something a bit different from me today, I’m reviewing this beautiful wooden watch from JORD Wood Watches. JORD is Swedish for ‘earth, soil, land’ and their products take inspiration from the natural elements, utilising sustainable materials from all around the world. I’ve been trying out the Ely* model in Natural Green & Maple, it also comes in three other wood finishes – Maple, Black or Cherry. I prefer the Natural Green & Maple though as you can see the intricate details of the wood grain best on this one. I have quite a small wrist so I chose the Ely model as it’s one of the smallest watches offered by JORD, but if you want something similar but bigger there is also the Fieldcrest model. The watch fits my wrist perfectly as JORD offer a wrist-sizing service and size each watch individually to fit the owner, you just let them know the circumference of your wrist when ordering. JORD’s packaging is really special and continues the wood theme to another level. My...

The Body Shop – Shimmer Cube Palette in Green & Smudger Brush

The Body Shop – Shimmer Cube Palette in Green & Smudger Brush

A duo from The Body Shop for you today, it’s Shimmer Cube Palette in Green* and the Smudger Brush*. Shimmer Cube Palette in Green – I used to have one of these Shimmer Cubes in a browny/gold shade years ago and found that it was a bit crumbly, but The Body Shop have definitely improved the formula of these since then. Available in 7 shades, the Shimmer Cube Palette contains 4 little cube blocks of eyeshadow – each one in it’s own removable lidded perspex box so you can take them out of the palette, rearrange them, or take them out with you. Three of the green shades are iridescent and shimmery, perfect for highlighting the whole of the eye area or smudging into the crease of the eye socket. The darkest jade green shade has more of a matt finish which makes it great for contouring the outer corner of the eye for a dark, smokey look. The shadows are pretty much crease resistant, just don’t apply too...

Tesco – Wake Up Cool Mint Shower Creme

Tesco – Wake Up Cool Mint Shower Creme

I love being able to pick up good value bodycare essentials at the supermarket while I do my weekly shop, so today I have for you a review of Tesco Wake Up Cool Mint Shower Creme*. If I have a shower in the morning I think it’s really important to use something zingy to help wake me up and prepare me for the rest of the day and this Shower Creme really hits the spot – it contains both mint and tea tree and smells just like an After Eight mint! Yum… It’s definitely got a thin creamy consistency rather than a gel one, but it seems to thicken up once you add water. You do need to use quite a bit to get a good foam but it leaves the skin feeling really clean and refreshed. The sugary mint scent is lovely too, it smells good enough to eat. Tesco Wake Up Cool Mint Shower Creme is really easy to use in the shower, it’s got a textured...

Timeless Truth – Face Masks

Timeless Truth – Face Masks

I was actually sent these sheet face masks ages ago but it’s taken me until now to get round to reviewing them. I’m not sure why it’s taken me so long, I love face masks and use one every week, but I think I was maybe put off by the fact that these are sheet masks and I thought they might be a bit fiddly to use. The three facial sheet masks that I have here are all from Timeless Truth: Charcoal Detox Brightening Mask, Organic Silk Fibre Elixir Mask and Green Tea Phenol Soothing Mask. If you’re new to sheet masks the idea is this – it’s a piece of fabric that has been soaked in the face mask product (this could be a liquid, gel or cream) and you simple peel off the backing sheet and place it over your face. There are holes for the eyes, nose and mouth so you can still see and breathe. They’re probably a little bit quicker to apply than a...
