Vichy – Aqualia Thermal Power Serum

Vichy – Aqualia Thermal Power Serum

I’m quite partial to a serum, especially when it promises super hydration. I have combination skin, and my forehead and cheeks can get very dry particularly in cold weather, so I’m always on the lookout for something that will rehydrate my skin. This Aqualia Thermal Power Serum from Vichy contains three hydrating sugars which helps to hold water inside the skin for up to 48 hours, thus helping prevent dehydration. Skin is composed of 70% water and it’s the body’s barrier between you and the environment. Over the course of the day your skin can lose water, and dehydration can cause small wrinkles to appear and make skin start to look dull. I’ve been using Vichy Aqualia Thermal Power Serum for around 2 weeks now, applying it at night before I go to bed. Clarins – Blue Orchid Face Treatment Oil

Clarins – Blue Orchid Face Treatment Oil

Another skincare review for you today, this time it’s Blue Orchid Face Treatment Oil* from Clarins, a real treat for dehydrated skin. This product aims to revitalise and tone skin, whilst the Hazelnut Oil within it helps to prevent further moisture loss making it perfect for Winter when cold weather and central heating can really zap skin of its moisture. You get plenty of oil in the 30ml glass bottle with pipette lid and as you only use a few drops each time this bottle will last you for AGES! The oil itself is a beautiful golden colour and it has a strong scent of patchouli which I do think it is a bit of a strange fragrance for a skincare product and it reminds me of burning incense sticks in my room as a teenager, but I am getting used to it the more that I use this oil. Around 6 drops should be applied to cleansed skin both morning and night instead of a moisturiser, first the...

Clarins – HydraQuench Cream-Mask

Clarins – HydraQuench Cream-Mask

If you are a regular reader of Beauty Best Friend you will know that I am a big fan of Clarins skincare and I am a regular user of their HydraQuench Lotion which I reviewed here. So when I was sent this HydraQuench Cream-Mask* to try out I was very excited. The ingredients include Hyaluronic acid which helps to restore the skin’s water reserves and Katafray extract which also helps dehydrated skin to hold on to moisture. Firstly I must apologise for the quality of the photographs that I have taken of this product, the pearlescent shimmery finish of the blue tube reflects the light and has made it very difficult for me to take a clear photo of the tube! Clarins HydraQuench Cream-Mask is a thick, creamy, white non-drying mask which aims to add moisture to dehydrated or dry skins. It has a mild scent reminiscent of old-fashioned moisturisers or lotions like Astral. The mask should be applied to the face with the fingertips and then left on...
