Is Sebamed Clear Face skincare the answer for acne?

Is Sebamed Clear Face skincare the answer for acne?

I’d never heard of Sebamed when I was approached by them to see if I would try out some of their products. Their Clear Face collection is a range of products developed for acne prone skin, it reminds me of the sort of thing I would have used back when I was a teenager when there seemed to be loads of this sort of thing around (anyone remember Biactol!?). I was sent a Sebamed Clear Face 3-step skincare regime to try, consisting of Cleansing Bar, Deep Cleansing Facial Toner and Care Gel and I was asked to use them for a month to see what effect they had on my skin. I have combination skin with an oily chin and nose, and I am very prone to spots particularly on my chin, along my jawline and just under my cheekbones. The Clear Face range has been developed to restore skin’s pH level to 5.5 – that of a healthy skin. Sebamed Clear Face Cleansing Bar – I just LOVE a...

Soap & Glory – Peaches and Clean 3-in-1 Wash-Off Deep Purifying Cleanser

Soap & Glory – Peaches and Clean 3-in-1 Wash-Off Deep Purifying Cleanser

Some eagle-eyed readers may have noticed that I already reviewed Peaches And Clean Cleanser a few months ago, but Soap & Glory have recently redeveloped their skincare range so I wanted to weigh up how the new version of Peaches And Clean performs against the old one. The old Peaches And Clean was one of my favourite cleansers (and could also double up as an exfoliating mask) so I was nervous to try out the new version and had my fingers crossed that it wouldn’t have changed too much. Soap & Glory have added OXYGINSENG Technology™ (their special oxygen boosting complex) to this product to re-energize and stimulate the skin, plus PEACH & GOJUICE™ Extracts (Peach Extract and Goji Berry extract) that are rich in Vitamin A, C and anti oxidants. They have also removed parabens from the cleanser which I think is a great move. The old product was described as a ‘4-in-1 Wash-Off Deep Cleansing Milk’ whereas the new one is a ‘3-in-1 Wash-Off Deep Purifying Cleanser’. The...

Tresemme – Keratin Smooth 60 Second Treatment Shot

Tresemme – Keratin Smooth 60 Second Treatment Shot

I received this new Keratin Smooth 60 Second Treatment Shot from Tresemme in my August Glossybox. Tresemme isn’t a brand I would normally choose, but this little tube reminded me a bit of the VO5 Hot Oil Treatments that were popular some years ago and I was intrigued to try it out. This Keratin Smooth 60 Second Treatment Shot aims to smooth and hydrate the hair and to make it easier to style. You apply the deep conditioning product after shampooing mainly to the mid-lengths and the ends of your hair, and then leave it on for 60 seconds before rinsing off. Tresemme recommend using this Treatment Shot once a week, and I have found that one tube will last for 2 applications as long as your hair isn’t too long, you just reinsert the long pointy end of the torn-off nozzle into the hole to re-seal the tube. So what about the results? I can’t say I found this to be a miracle product, it’s just a good...

Aussie – 3 Minute Miracle Reconstructor

Aussie – 3 Minute Miracle Reconstructor

In the past I haven’t been one for hair treatments, but I recently had my long hair cut to shoulder length and now that all the dry, split ends are gone I want to keep it in tip-top shiny condition. I noticed this little sachet of Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Reconstructor Deep Conditioner in Boots, and thought I would try it. It works like a deep conditioner, just massage into the hair after shampooing, leave for 3 minutes then rinse out. It has a pleasant fragrance and contains Australian Mint Balm and Aloe Vera. The sachet says ‘…smooths rough cuticles and helps restore manageability and adds shine.’ After drying and straightening my thick hair it was soft and shiny and I only needed to use half the sachet so have some left for another application. I’m not sure I would describe the product as a ‘miracle’ exactly, but it gives a good result and at only £1.09 for a 20ml sachet it’s worth trying out. The sachet is available in-store only...
