Embryolisse – Lait-Creme Concentre

Embryolisse – Lait-Creme Concentre

So who doesn’t love a multi-tasking beauty product? I certainly do and Lait-Creme Concentre* from Embryolisse is one of those products with multiple uses. Actually it’s a bit of a cult product with a celebrity following – Emma Willis, Ariana Grande and Scarlett Johansen are all said to use this multi-tasking moisturising cream, and one is sold every 60 seconds! Lait-Creme Concentre is a white cream and it has a traditional scent that reminds me of old-fashioned cold cream. The tube is metallic and you have to pierce the foil seal with the spike inside the end of the lid, the same as you do with Savlon and other medicated creams and gels. I quite like this touch, it means you know that the product is untouched and sterile when you buy it. So what can you use Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentre for? It would probably be quicker for me to list the uses that this product doesn’t help with! Primarily a moisturiser for both morning and evening, the cream...

Ciate – Paint Pots in Pocket Money

Ciate – Paint Pots in Pocket Money

How stunning do Ciate Paint Pots look with their unique bottle shape and little black bow?! This is Pocket Money, and it’s the first Ciate nail polish that I ever purchased. Ciate (pronounced ‘See-are-tey’) is a London brand and they’re always bringing out innovative new nail products including their recent Shell Manicure whereby you sprinkle a layer of shimmery crushed shells directly onto a layer of wet nail polish. Check out the Ciate website to view their full range of nail polishes and special effects. Pocket Money is a creamy caramel colour with quite a glossy finish – very chic, it’s one of my favourites and I always receive nice comments when I’m wearing it. The brush is made up of 250 bristles and is flat and wide which means that it takes less strokes to apply the polish across the whole nail and makes it quicker and easier to get a neat finish. As I’ve already mentioned I love Ciate’s packaging, the uniquely shaped bottles are set off...

Tesco – Wake Up Cool Mint Shower Creme

Tesco – Wake Up Cool Mint Shower Creme

I love being able to pick up good value bodycare essentials at the supermarket while I do my weekly shop, so today I have for you a review of Tesco Wake Up Cool Mint Shower Creme*. If I have a shower in the morning I think it’s really important to use something zingy to help wake me up and prepare me for the rest of the day and this Shower Creme really hits the spot – it contains both mint and tea tree and smells just like an After Eight mint! Yum… It’s definitely got a thin creamy consistency rather than a gel one, but it seems to thicken up once you add water. You do need to use quite a bit to get a good foam but it leaves the skin feeling really clean and refreshed. The sugary mint scent is lovely too, it smells good enough to eat. Tesco Wake Up Cool Mint Shower Creme is really easy to use in the shower, it’s got a textured...

Thea – Face Renew Skin Brightening System

Thea – Face Renew Skin Brightening System

I was recently sent a sample of Face Renew Fruit Enzyme Creme Cleanser* and Creme Moisturiser* from organic skincare brand Thea, these are from their Skin Brightening System range which aims to brighten and revive dull skin using a blend of fruit enzyme extracts. The fruit enzymes gently exfoliate the skin without the need for exfoliating scrubs or other harsh products. The samples I got to try were quite small, just 15ml each. Both of the products are a thick off-white cream with a strong lemony scent – they felt a bit like rubbing lemon cheesecake over your face! I love the citrusy scent but it might not be for you if you’re not keen on strongly perfumed products. The Face Renew Fruit Enzyme Creme Cleanser removes foundation and other face make-up quite well, but isn’t so good at removing eye make-up so I did have to use a make-up remover first. The Creme Moisturiser is quite rich, and whilst I have enjoyed using it at night I found...

Kiehls – Ultra Facial Cream & Creme de Corps Review

Kiehls – Ultra Facial Cream & Creme de Corps Review

I received these little beauties from Kiehl’s in my Selfridges beauty advent calendar. Kiehl’s is a good traditional brand, founded as an old-world apothecary in New York’s East Village over 150 years ago. I love their packaging – it’s very simple with no frills and the ingredients are clearly displayed on each item. I have been using the Ultra Facial Cream moisturiser at night before I go to bed. It’s a very simple, white cream with not much scent, the consistency is not too thick and not too thin. You only need a small amount and it nicely moisturises the skin without leaving it feeling sticky or oily. Plus my skin doesn’t feel dry in the morning when I wake up. Kiehl’s claim that Ultra Facial Cream moisturises skin for up to 24 hours – I’ve not tried out this claim, but in my opinion it definitely moisturises the skin well. Creme de Corps is a light moisturising body cream, I had expected the consistency to be a bit...
