NYC – Expert Last Lip Color in Creamy Caramel

NYC – Expert Last Lip Color in Creamy Caramel

I have to admit I’m not too clued up on budget make-up brand NYC. You can pick up their products in most Superdrug stores for a few pounds, and last year I reviewed their Appleicious Glossy Lip Balms which I really liked. I have to admit I’m a bit put off by NYC’s packaging, I think it looks quite cheap and there are other budget beauty brands who do packaging much better. I love nude and brown lipsticks (almost as much as I love pink lipsticks!) and this one is NYC’s offering – Expert Last Lip Color in Creamy Caramel. There are around 15 different shades of Expert Last Lip Color available, and at just £1.99 each you really can’t afford not to try one! Creamy Caramel is a nutty brown shade, with a creamy texture. Clarins – Joli Rouge Lipstick in Pink Camellia

Clarins – Joli Rouge Lipstick in Pink Camellia

This is the second Joli Rouge lipstick from Clarins that I have tested, this one is Pink Camellia*. The Joli Rouge lipstick range contains ingredients that help plump and hydrate for full, soft and supple lips, this lipstick has a lovely creamy consistency and applies really nicely both direct from the tube and with a lipbrush. It has a feint fruity strawberry scent which is really nice. Pink Camellia is a dark raspberry pink colour but the texture is lovely and buttery and sheer, so it is very wearable and doesn’t look too bright on the lips. The swatch image above clearly shows how glossy Pink Camellia is. I just love the sophisticated shiny silver bullet tubes too, they look really glamorous (they’re...

The hunt for the perfect pink lipstick #4

The hunt for the perfect pink lipstick #4

Welcome to the fourth episode of ‘The hunt for the perfect pink lipstick’! I am on the hunt… the hunt for the perfect pink lipstick that is ‘MLBB’ or ‘my lips but better’. You know, the sort of colour that looks from a distance like you’re not wearing lipstick, like you just have naturally pink, plump perfect lips. The sort of colour you can just slick on from the tube and doesn’t need painstaking application with liner and lipbrush. The sort of colour that looks like ‘my lips, but better’. This is the third lipstick that I have tested as part of my hunt – Joli Rouge lipstick in Petal Pink* from Clarins. I am a big user of Clarins skincare products, but I am ashamed to say that this is the first Clarins make-up item I have tried. Petal Pink looks quite a dark pink colour in the tube but the Joli Rouge lipsticks are creamy and sheer with a supple texture so it doesn’t translate as dark...
