Sleep In A Box!

Sleep In A Box!

I go through phases where I suffer from terrible insomnia so I’m always eager to try out new products that promise to help you drift off to sleep. I was given this set from Sanctuary Spa after I gave birth to my daughter last September, and given that I was feeling rather run down and tired I welcomed anything that encouraged me to pamper myself. Containing mini versions of four of Sanctuary Spa’s bodycare products from their Sleep range, this Sleep-In-A-Box contains everything you need to give yourself a little bit of a treat before bedtime. There’s a helpful guide inside the lid as to how to use the products – starting with a long warm bath filled with Calming Luxury Bath Float, then exfoliating away any dry skin using Smoothing Silk Polish. After the bath you can massage Restoring Body Oil into aching muscles (even better get your partner to do this!) and finish off by hydrating skin with Comforting Night Butter. The ingredients of the products include...

Blogger Beauty Box – October 2015

Blogger Beauty Box – October 2015

The Blogger Beauty Box was set up in June 2015 when blogger Vix Meldrew decided to bring together a way of connecting beauty bloggers with brands by way of a monthly product box. Available to bloggers throughout the UK the box offers a range of skincare and make-up products and showcases brands both popular and little known. I like the fact that there is no subscription needed to take part, unlike most other beauty box schemes, and neither is there a ‘theme’ each month which I think can hold some box schemes back sometimes. October 2015 was my second Blogger Beauty Box (you can read all about the September 2015 Blogger Beauty Box here) and here’s a sneak peek to see what was inside: My first impression was that this box was rather skincare heavy with only one make-up item and I would have liked to see another make-up product in there. One of my favourite products in October’s box was this 15ml sample of John Gosnell’s The Original Vitamin E...

I like the fact that there is no subscription needed to take part, unlike most other beauty box schemes, and neither is there a ‘theme’ each month which I think can hold some box schemes back sometimes. September 2015 was my first Blogger Beauty Box, and here’s a sneak peek to see what was inside: My first impression was that there was a good ratio of skincare to make-up products, and whilst the box itself is a rather simple plain white cardboard affair with a sticky label on top I wasn’t made to feel like I’d just shelled out hard earned cash on a pretty cardboard box. I was also really pleased...

My Little Box – August 2015

My Little Box – August 2015

Today I have another My Little Box review for you, this one is for the August box and for once it’s on time! I received the August box last week and in my opinion it was another good one! The theme was My Little Gypset Box… I’d never heard of the word ‘gypset’ but according to the dictionary it relates to a ‘modern nomadic lifestyle’ and the products inside this month’s box are all geared around an easy lifestyle with a bohemian twist. If you’ve never heard of My Little Box it’s a quirky monthly beauty box that offers something a bit different, including their own range of make-up ‘My Little Beauty’, a proper readable mini magazine in each box, plus exciting little non-beauty extras – past examples have included jewellery, stationery and T-shirts. So, what was inside My Little Gypset Box in August….? I’ll start with the beauty products as these were my favourite items inside August’s box. There was a mini Korres Basil Lemon Body Milk, this is a...

My Little Box – July 2015

My Little Box – July 2015

Apologies, once again the My Little Box review is a bit late, I’ve been experimenting with my new DSLR camera and it took me a while to learn how to edit the images. Sadly the last couple of boxes have been disappointing for me, but I love this one, the theme is Road Trip…. think freedom, holidays and easy-to-use products! So, what was inside My Little Road Trip Box in July….? I’ll start with the beauty products as these were my favourite items inside July’s box. There was a full size Essie nail polish in ‘Time For Me Time’, it’s a very pale pink and I painted this onto my nails within about half an hour of receiving the...

Rimmel London – 60 Seconds Nail Polish Lucky Lilac

Rimmel London – 60 Seconds Nail Polish Lucky Lilac

Lucky Lilac (670) is part of Rimmel’s 60 Seconds fast-drying nail polish collection, it’s a bright pinky-fuchsia shade that’s perfect for Summer. It looks quite glossy when it’s first dried but after a day or two it starts to look a bit duller, although you could add a coat or two of clear top coat for a glossy finish. I really like this bright shade, although I do think purple nails could be considered a bit old-fashioned these days now there are so many other unusual colours available. The nail polish brush is nice and wide, a bit like you get with an Essie polish, so you can quickly apply the colour to each nail with only 2 or 3 strokes. It lives up to its 60 Seconds name too and dries fairly quickly, I applied two coats of Lucky Lilac just before I got in the car and after driving for about five minutes it had completely dried. The colour is quite opaque, 2 coats is adequate to completely cover each nail,...
