I often get oily patches on my combination skin and more often than not this leads to a breakout of spots. Generally these occur on my chin, but recently I have also had a breakout above my right eyebrow too. So in my bid to use more natural skincare products I have been trying out Witch Blemish Stick to see if it was up to the job. Witch is a skincare brand that I haven’t tried before, all of their products are based around the natural ingredient of Witch Hazel, a plant which grows wild in the USA. Witch Hazel is an astringent, which tightens the skin when applied helping to reduce re-infection and inflammation. It also helps to close damaged skin and encourages healing. Dermalogica – Overnight Clearing Gel

I’ve been using Dermalogica Overnight Clearing Gel for a while now, as I’ve always had problem combination skin that is prone to breakouts particularly around my chin and jawline. The active ingredient in this product is salicylic acid, and this can be found in hundreds of other blemish products so it’s nothing new, but Dermalogica Overnight Clearing Gel does also contain various natural plant oils, including tea tree leaf oil which is known for its antiseptic and healing properties. The fragrance-free clear gel should be applied to problem areas to cleansed skin in the evening before bed. I have had good results from it, particularly if I feel one or two small blemishes coming under the skin, quite often by the next morning they have disappeared. It is also good if I have a oily breakout on my chin, the active ingredients dry up any problem areas while I sleep.
