Go cruelty free with Beautiful Movements

Go cruelty free with Beautiful Movements

This month I’m partnering up with Cruelty Free International and Beautiful Movements Cosmetics to help educate my readers all about animal testing on cosmetics, and to promote the ‘Go Cruelty Free’ pledge. Did you know that 80% of the world still allows animals to be used in cruel tests for cosmetics? And almost all countries still allow animal testing for cleaning products. Countless rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, mice and rats suffer and die worldwide in routine animal tests for the ingredients that go into deodorant, lipstick and washing up liquid. But it doesn’t have to be this way; animal tests are being replaced with quicker, cheaper and more reliable non-animal methods and companies can use ingredients which are already known to be safe. One way to help the fight against animal testing is to only buy make-up from brands that carry the ‘Leaping Bunny’ logo. It’s the only globally recognised guarantee that a brand has made a genuine commitment to ending animal testing for its products. You can sign up to take the...

Beautiful Movements – Concealer Powder

Beautiful Movements – Concealer Powder

Now I must admit that I have actually reviewed this product – Mineral Concealer Powder from Beautiful Movements – before, but that was in conjunction with their Prime & Create Mixing Medium and I didn’t get on with it too well back then in 2013. Fast forward 2 years and I now use this concealer most days, albeit in a different lighter shade and on its own without the Mixing Medium. Beautiful Movements used to be known as BM Beauty and one of their co-founders is stunning ex-Pussycat Doll Kimberley Wyatt. Beautiful Movements are a natural cosmetic brand and their products are free from parabens, animal products, synthetic dyes & fragrances, neither are they tested on animals. Mineral Concealer Powder is exactly that, a powder concealer made from minerals, but despite being a powder it blends really well and takes on a slightly creamy consistency once it settles on the skin. It comes in a little pot with a sieve inserted inside the top which is a welcome addition to...

Beautiful Movements – Lip Gloss in Nude

Beautiful Movements – Lip Gloss in Nude

I’m already a big fan of natural make-up brand Beautiful Movements, so when I received this Nude Mineral Lip Gloss in my December Glossybox I was over the moon! Kimberley explains in the December Glossybox magazine that this is her favourite lip gloss, the Nude colour can be worn with any make-up look and suits all skin types… and she isn’t wrong! You can see from the swatch image above that this Nude Mineral Lip Gloss from Beautiful Movements is an orangey-based neutral coloured gloss. It is fairly glossy, but not too shiny that it looks unnatural on your lips. I have been wearing it on its own, but it would also be really useful to add a bit of gloss over the...

Beautiful Movements – Mineral Foundation Powder

Beautiful Movements – Mineral Foundation Powder

Regular readers of Beauty Best Friend may have already read my review of Prime & Create Mixing Medium and Concealer Powder from Beautiful Movements Cosmetics (you can read that review here). Today I am reviewing Mineral Foundation Powder*, which should also be mixed with Prime & Create to form a cream foundation. I have been using Mineral Foundation Powder in Naked, a pale colour with balanced undertones, part of the Vanilla Rose collection. Using a small white porcelain saucer and my Bobbi Brown Foundation brush I mixed a hazelnut-sized blob of Prime & Create Mixing Medium with a very fine sifting of Foundation Powder, then blended it carefully. It took me quite a while to get the consistency right and to work out...
