Daeng Gi Meo Ri Ja Dam Hwa Scalp & Hair Cleansing Treatment Review

I am currently taking part in an initiative working with BNT News International, a global beauty/fashion/lifestyle and entertainment source based in Seoul, South Korea. I am helping BNT to promote a selection of new and exciting Korean beauty products to a UK audience, these are products that you probably won’t have seen before and some of them are really different and unique.

My second Korean beauty post went live last Friday when I reviewed Lips In Love lip paint from Forencos.

The product that I am reviewing today has possibly the longest name of anything I’ve ever tested! It’s Ja Dam Hwa Scalp & Hair Cleansing Treatment from Daeng Gi Meo Ri.

Now firstly I have to admit that I’ve found it a bit of a struggle to review this product, all of the directions and ingredients on the box and tube are in Korean so I had to do a bit of investigation on the internet to find out how to use the treatment!

Basically it’s a herbal treatment for the hair and scalp that also cleanses the hair like a shampoo would. The product itself is bright red with a pleasant floral scent and it lathers easily. You do need to use conditioner afterwards though otherwise the hair gets very tangled.

Ja Dam Hwa delivers nutrients to the scalp courtesy of its herbal ingredients, and it also carries out a ‘6 Repair System’ as per the diagram above that’s on the box…. unfortunately I’m unable to read what these 6 benefits are!

I’ve been using it to wash my hair for a couple of weeks now and while it does an ok job of cleaning my hair I’m not too sure if it’s delivering any benefits to my scalp.

The glossy red oriental patterned tube does look very pretty in the bathroom though! I’m not too sure if I’d buy this to use again… which is just as well really as I’m struggling to find anywhere in the UK that stocks it!

  1. The packaging looks so pretty. I’ve never had a chance to try any Korean products, but I’d be willing to try this.

  2. It’s so pretty! It’s a shame you can’t tell any difference because my scalp seriously needs some help right now :/

    • Sorry to hear that Julia, you might want to try some kind of oil treatment? I have a dry sensitive scalp and that’s what I do, you can make your own using olive oil and one or two drops of essential oil – have a look on the internet for some recipes. xx

  3. Oooh the packaging is so pretty! This looks way better than the Oriental shampoo I got from the same brand. It’s a shame that you didn’t see any results but I would love to try this product too! I’m kinda curious about the bright red color of the shampoo.
