Botanicals Orange Blossom Body Balm Review

If you’re a regular reader of Beauty Best Friend then you’ll know that one of my favourite skincare brands is Botanicals. All of Botanicals’ products are blended by hand in rural England and contain no no petrochemicals or synthetic additives. Botanicals say their aim is ‘to provide a range of personal care products which are as close to nature as possible’ and their products are approved by the Soil Association, are suitable for vegans and are never tested on animals.

I’ve tried a few of their facial skincare products over the past year and been really impressed with all of them, for example Nourishing Face Balm is a great natural moisturiser.

Botanicals Orange Blossom Body Balm

Orange Blossom Body Balm is the first bodycare product I’ve tried from Botanicals, it’s a conditioning and nourishing natural balm that helps soften the skin and supports the skin’s natural ability to heal and regenerate new skin cells. The ingredients include shea butter, cold pressed jojoba oil and a selection of natural essential oils. The full list of ingredients is 100% natural and 89% organic.

I had expected the Orange Blossom Body Balm to smell really sweetly of orange fruit, but instead it has a slightly bitter spicy scent probably given by the orange peel oils and bitter orange flower oils that are added. It’s not an unpleasant fragrance though, and it’s quite subtle.

Botanicals Orange Blossom Body Balm 2

Botanicals Orange Blossom Body Balm is quite solid and feels slightly grainy at room temperature but it soon melts down into a balm when you warm it in your hands. Just apply it all over your body after bathing or showering, or whenever your skin feels dry. The balmy slightly oily consistency feels silky on the skin and sinks in quickly. It feels like it would work really nicely as an after-sun balm too, although I might have a while to wait to try that as it doesn’t look like we’re going to be having any more hot sunny days any time soon!

I’d really recommend this product, although it is slightly pricy for a bodycare product you probably will be looking at spending a bit more if you want something natural.

Orange Blossom Body Balm is priced at £25.95 for a 95g pot, available from Botanicals.
