AcuRegen – Rose Body Oil
AcuRegen are a range of clinics that practice acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine, and they have recently developed a new range of natural body oils.
The oils come in three varieties – Rose, Jasmine and Lavender – I was sent the Rose one to try out.
Rose Body Oil is made up from various natural oils including Grape Seed Oil and Peach Kernel Oil. It then has Rose, Geranium and Frankincense essential oils added which, amongst other benefits, help to support circulation and boost the immune system. This was an excellent choice for me as I gave birth to a baby girl in September and since then had been feeling a bit run down and had a couple of minor illnesses, so wanted to give my immune system a good kick-start!
The oil has a really nice gentle fragrance of rose – I know some people think the scent of rose is a bit old fashioned, but I think this smells really pretty. The oil also has a good helping of dried rose petals floating around in it, it makes it look really decorative, although I’m not sure if they add any benefit to the skin.
You can either add a drizzle of the oil to a warm bath to help nourish and soften the skin while you bathe, or you can apply all over the body after a bath or shower. If you apply it afterwards make sure you don’t apply too much and massage it into the skin really well or you may feel a little bit slimy and oily for a while! It leaves the skin feeling really supple and glistening.
I’d say the only downside to this product is the packaging – it looks quite nice in the photos but it’s made from light plastic so it doesn’t feel very premium and the silver lid and base scratch very easily. It would feel much more of a luxury product if the bottle were made from glass or a tougher plastic. It’s quite a large 100ml bottle though which is a generous size for a body oil, and it’ll last me quite a while.
Overall I’d say this Rose Body Oil is a nice simple natural body oil, it’s not too fancy or gimmicky and nourishes the skin as you’d expect it to do.
Rose Body Oil is priced at £16.99 for 15ml, or £32.99 for 100ml, available from AcuRegen. I’d suggest you go for the larger size as it’s much better value for money.
